"What are you doing today!." Lewis asked Truly after he had finished showering and dressing.
"I just have a lot of prep work to do for Atlanta, you know how Corel is... I also need to book my flights and be there for Wednesday, so two days from now.." she said. "It's not giving me a lot of time.."
Lewis smiled and kissed her forehead. "You've got this.. you always have..."
"What about you... three amazing countries in as many weeks.."
He nodded. "Spain, Belgium and Hungary." He said to her. "Triple headers are exhausting... but we get to relax and enjoy the places too so it's not all bad.."
"Anyone going to be joining you this time?."
He looked at her. "What does that mean?."
"Well, every time I look at social media after a race you're hitting some high end club with some pop star, movie actress or model." She shrugged.
"Another lil dig!." He shook his head. "I can't help it if I know a lot of people... I've been in this game a long while... you would understand if you were as well known as me and in the celebrity limelight like I am..."
"Yeah, cos I'm just a run of the mill PA gopher right!.."
Lewis rolled his eyes. "That is not what I meant... you take every single thing I say the wrong way.. like it's your aim in life to fight with me.. I know what you do is important to you..."
"And you!.. didn't you model for Corel 2 years ago for GQ magazine?... didn't I set that up for you too?..." she said.
Lewis went upstairs to get his bag, he knew it wouldn't take long for them to be at loggerheads again, they always did, at least 10 times a day when they were together. They got on better by FaceTime and on the phone.
Truly went into the office to get her head into scheduling her upcoming trip to LA. She opened her laptop and set about going through her emails. Corel Du Toit was a perfectionist in every sense of the word, he wanted to meet and hold court with as many high profile people as he could once they were in LA. Truly's people research list was extensive. And this was partly why she was so edgy this morning.
She looked out of the window and saw that one of the Mercedes racing team members had come to collect Lewis. She knew she couldn't let him leave without them being on good terms. She walked out of the office. She watched as he loaded what he needed into the trunk of the car that would be going ahead to the airport as he was flying out that night. She cleared her throat. "Oh hey Truly.. good to see you." Marco said.
She smiled and waved to him but it was Lewis's attention that she wanted. Lewis walked over to her and stood in front of her. "We need to stop getting into arguments with each other... I don't want to go away for us to be in a bad place.."

She nodded. "me either." She put her arms around his neck. "I guess I'll see you in a month?."
"You will see me on FaceTime as much as I can get on..." he smiled. "You look beautiful today by the way... and, I hope LA is good for you... you deserve a good run... you do so much for Corel I hope he knows the asset that he has in you."
