Truly lounged in the pool back at Jay's place. She was alone while everyone else was doing what they needed to make sure the event was on point. Luckily Truly had prepared and she was now able to reap the benefits of that by spending the rest of the day relaxing ahead of the event tomorrow.

As she sipped on her cocktail and rested against the side of the pool, her phone rang

As she sipped on her cocktail and rested against the side of the pool, her phone rang. She saw that it was Lewis, she took a deep breath before she picked up. She didn't want to get into yet another fight.
"Hi." She said to him quietly. "How are things looking after practice?." She quickly added, making sure that they had something else to talk about so they could leave the other conversation alone and not fight.

"Things are good... I'm in for a top 4 grid start at the rate I'm going maybe even a P1 in quali..

"Well that's good news... I wish I could be there..."

"I wish you could be here too..." he paused. "Baby listen to me... I'm sorry I closed the call on you yesterday... I didn't mean that.. it was just a shock..."

"Why?... is it because you just assume me having dinner or food with a man means that I'm screwing him... how often do you go out.. how often do I see pics of you on social media having food or in a club with girls...

"Truly...Truly please... I don't wanna fight... we are miles away from each other and I don't want to keep on letting every conversation that we have end like this... we are seriously struggling in this relationship and I don't want that... when I'm away from you, all I can think about is you... I love you... I'm sick of fighting over stuff that doesn't matter..." he said to her with honesty. "Look, I know I've hurt you in the past... but that isn't who I am or what I do now... I really want you with me at the next race... I wanna show you off... let everyone see who I'm with now... will you come to the next race once you finish in LA, I will fly you straight out here..."

Truly paused. "Yes... of course I'll come... as long as the conversation doesn't turn to me leaving behind what I want to do to become a mother, sitting at home while you jet set the world..." she said to him.

"I promise... it'll just be about us.." he said. " we don't see enough of each other that's all, but I'm not willing to let you go..."

"Okay... listen, be safe this weekend..

"You too... I hope the fashion show goes well... I love you..."

Truly paused "see you soon." She said and the call ended. She found it hard to say 'I love you' she found in her own mind that allowing herself to say that left her vulnerable to hurt, and he had hurt her when he cheated at the beginning of their relationship.

She put her phone on the side and got back in the pool, loving the Californian sunshine. She didn't even realise as she relaxed on a blow up lounger in the middle of the pool that she had company.

Jay had come back to see her as the way that things had been left made him feel some kind of way. He watched her, she made him smile. Seeing her like this in her bikini, in his pool, hair tousled and wet, looking stunning.
He cleared his throat. Truly lifted her hard from the air filled pillow. She slipped off her shades. "Jay?... I wasn't expecting you today?..."

"Well, this is my house." He said mockingly.

She smiled and rolled her eyes. "I didn't mean it in that way..."

"I came back because I knew you would be on yo own and I wanted to talk to you...
She looked at him with a frown.
"Yesterday... I did something to upset you, you jus' stopped talking... it's been on my mind... I'd like to know what I did?..."

She sighed and pulled herself to the side of the pool. Jay sat with his legs over the side of the pool, his feet in the water, right next to where she pulled herself over.
"It was silly really....

 "It was silly really

"Not to me... if I said something to offend you I wanna know so that I can put it right..."

"You laughed at me, mocked me about me being scared of the storm the night before."

"I was joking'... I didn't mean any of that.... I don't realise it was an issue for you?..." he said struggling to understand.

"My father and sister died in a storm...

"Shit!.. you should have told me...

"You weren't to know... I over reacted, because it is still so raw...."

"Now I just feel like an insensitive prick...

"It's okay..." she smiled. "As I said you went to know..."

"What happened?.."

"They were driving and lightning struck something on the road just ahead of them, my father swerved to miss the cars ahead and ploughed into a building.... They died instantly... my sister was 15...."

"Wow!.. okay I get it, I'm sorry...."

She put her hand in the water "that's okay.. I'll get my own back on you...." She said with a mischievous grin. She cupped her hand and brought it out of the water splashing Jay with a handful of water.

He looked at her. "The one and only time you'll do that...
As he finished speaking again so another handful of water hit him in the face.

He quickly grabbed her ankle as she laughed trying to push herself off of the side of the pool to the sanctuary of the middle of the water. "Ion think you're going anywhere.." he said as he took off his top with his other hand. He then jumped into the pool in just his shorts chasing her across the pool. He grabbed the blow up lounger and tipped it so that she fell off, splashing into the water.

She launched herself away from him, swimming and not getting very far because she was laughing too much. She felt his hand grab her foot as he went under the water.
He then emerged in front of her, the beads of water on his skin glistening in the sun, his tattoos slightly darkened and more prominent against his wet skin. She found herself looking at him for a long time.
And as her gaze returned to his face. He was looking at her.
"I owe you for that... and I will get you." He said to her trying to break the awkward silence and stares.

"You still have hold of my leg..."

"So I do.." he said with a smirk. "What do I do with it.." he added pulling her leg closer to him until it was almost wrapped around his waist. She put her other one around his waist as she thought she could pull him under with her thighs gripping him.

How wrong she was as he stood fast, and instead he pulled her closer to him, until they were almost nose to nose. She looked at him, the smile left her face.
The stare lingered for a fair few seconds, before she kissed his lips, slowly, tenderly. He accepted her kiss, allowing her lips to slowly open his lips, until he was kissing her back, sensually, it was slow, soft and long lasting. In the middle of the pool, everything else stood still as they were oblivious to everything.

Truly stayed wrapped around him, and Jay didn't seem to mind one little bit.....
