I sit on the loveseat
At my grandpas house
I haven't seen him in a year
But it's like I never left

We talk about small things
The weather
How I'll be 21 in a month
Some sense of normalcy

I got an idea
To write a poem a day
From a post I saw
Proclaiming to publish poets
If they wrote
21 poems over 21 days

The June heat is sweltering outside
We grilled hamburgers and ate them
And now we sit, drowsy and minds clear
It'll all happen again next year
