A couple of days passed by quickly and the trio were boarding a ship to sail out towards their mission. They were heading to an island in the Grand Line, the last place Fang and his crew were spotted. They carried their bags below deck to store them before walking to the front of the ship. Lucci stood and watched the waves splash against the hull of the boat before turning around. Both Kaku and Starry were in their uniforms with serious expressions and their arms crossed. Lucci glanced between the two of them with his usual blank expression and his hands in his pockets. "The trip should only take about a day. When we get there we will hunt down the pirates, locate the weapons, and eliminate them. Spandam doesn't want any civilization casualties and wants this done on the down low." He informed them as he looked back at the sea. The wind blew through his hair as he watched the sun slowly begin to set. The water was calm and the air was warm as he took a deep breath and let it out slowly. He was just ready to get this mission done so they could go back home and relax together. "You got it boss," Starry replied with a fanged smile, it had been a while since she last hunted something other than small game. She was ready. As she glanced over at Kaku she noticed his attention was focused elsewhere. The bill of his cap cast a shadow over his eyes as he looked off in a different direction from under the bill of his cap. Starry followed his gaze and saw two young marines that had been watching her. One blushed and turned away as the other offered her a friendly smile and waved. Both looked like they were still green with many things to learn. They were probably starstruck by the fact that they got to work with three of the most elite members of Cipher Pol, let alone the fact that one of them was an extremely rare neko.
Kaku scoffed and turned away before looking down at Starry who was giving him a knowing smile. His cheeks turned pink as he tucked his head down to hide his blush behind his cap and shirt collar. It was difficult to not feel jealous, not with a woman like Starry. She was gorgeous, charismatic, and unique. Her charm could draw in any man like a moth to a flame which is part of what drew him and Lucci to her. But he wasn't dumb. Kaku knew that they were letting their minds wander to places that shouldn't be as they eyed her. Even though he knew he had nothing to worry about, it still irked him to have other men stare at their woman. As if sensing Kaku's irritation Lucci cleared his throat and stepped in between them. He cut his eyes at the two young men as his gaze hardened making the two freeze before quickly returning to work. It seemed as though the other two marines understood the silent threat and backed off before Lucci decided to act on it. He didn't appreciate others staring at Starry the way they were. She was taken and belonged to them. He would not tolerate anyone disrespecting their relationship. Lucci was a very possessive man and he refused to let anyone else lay claim to what was his. He turned to look at the other two before glancing back at the sea with his usual stoic expression. He couldn't help but notice how cute Starry looked as she stood next to him with her tail swaying and her ears perked up curiously. She was absolutely adorable... and he wanted nothing more than to pick her up and squeeze her. But now was not the time for that. Kaku couldn't help but smile at Lucci and chuckle softly as he adjusted his cap. Obviously, the men were now nervous especially since Lucci kept glaring at them. Lucci had a way of making others feel like prey and he understood how they felt. He was well known throughout the Marines and was not a man to be trifled with. "Golly they're just kids, Lucci. Leave 'em be, they're not worth your time." Kaku said with a warm smile making Lucci scoff and roll his eyes before turning away.
"I don't know Kaku. Those 'kids' look like they're about your age, young man." Starry teased making Kaku's cheeks darken as he tilted his head down away from her. Starry couldn't help but giggle at such an adorable reaction. Lucci snickered as well making Kaku's blush spread to the tips of his ears. Kaku huffed and shoved his hands in his pockets before turning away from them. His cheeks were still burning as he tried to hide his embarrassment behind the collar of his shirt. He could hear Starry giggling at him and he grumbled under his breath as he crossed his arms over his chest. "They aren't worth my time either. They're just stupid kids who don't know any better." He stated while glaring at the ground before glancing back at the two young men. The day at sea passed and the group made their way towards their hotel for the time being. Starry hopped up in one of the chairs in the room as the other two stood. "So what's the plan? What do you think will be the best way for us to them away from civilians and back towards their ship." She asked as her partners thought about it for a moment. Lucci hummed thoughtfully before taking off his coat and hanging it on a nearby rack. He ran a hand through his hair as he mulled over the best course of action. While it was important to get the job done as quickly as possible they also had to be cautious with their limited information. "It should be simple enough. You will go into town and blend in with the civilians to look for them. We'll follow and keep watch over you. The problem is keeping it out of public view or causing any unnecessary casualties." He said with a sigh before walking over to the bed and sitting down. His expression was serious as he gazed over at Starry. "You have to be careful, we can't afford to draw attention to ourselves. We need to be subtle and efficient, no mistakes can be made." Lucci warned seriously as Starry nodded her head and got up from her chair.
