"I failed her, Hershel."

People like the Governor were malicious, disregarding any morals to gratify their own needs. His touch was scorching, almost as if he knew he was damaging something that did not belong to him in any way, shape, or form.

The worst thing about people like the Governor was that they were everywhere. Before the fall of civilization, Alex remembered reading articles regarding women being assaulted on the bus, in broad daylight, and even in the safety of their own homes.

She had hoped at least one good thing would come from the growing population of walkers — the extinction of scum like her father.

Yet, her hope was short-lived. Even with the current state of the world, men were still focused on keeping women terrified. It was an unpleasant reality that Alex had come to terms with. Despite her acceptance, she could tell Glenn still wasn't used to it, pacing back and forth.

Hesitantly, she approached Glenn, doing her best not to falter as her injury made her every move so much harder. He had strolled away from the car, his veins pumping with anger.

"Glenn?" she called out softly. At the sound of her voice, Glenn turned around, a crease forming in between his brows. He ran a hand over his face.

"You should be sitting down, Alexandra," he muttered. Her face was still pale, her injury being held together by stitches.

"I'm not going anywhere until you talk to me." Alexandra declared, shaking her head as she held onto her wound. She ignored the stabbing pain, anticipating the bandages would hold.

Glenn shook his head. "I said I was done talking."

Alex wouldn't be surprised if steam came out of his ears from the outright fury simmering within his chest.

"Well, I wasn't." Alexandra asserted. "Glenn, look —"

"Alexandra," Glenn replied firmly. "He's a monster, and we are just letting him go free? After everything he did?"

"I understand why you're mad, Glenn, but we need to get back to the prison," Alexandra said softly. "Whatever revenge you are planning can wait —"

"He deserves it!" Glenn shouted, cutting her off. Alexandra quickly shut her mouth the moment he raised his voice. A hint of regret coiled around Glenn's heart at her reaction. Adjusting his tone, he argued, "Alex, he hurt you. If we don't kill him now, he will come for us. He's fixated on you."

"We don't have the men or the weapons to take on his entire town, Glenn. Your anger is clouding your judgment. We are both injured, we have our daughter with us, and that son of a bitch knows where the rest of our family is." Alexandra explained, her words sinking into his mind. "He can be dealt with later."
