Prologue

We are in a white room, the six of us.I am now sitting on the big and long red couch with three boys and two other girls, waiting for our rejection or acceptance into the Junior VJs of New Music Live. The girls and I were holding hands wishing for the best. I learned that the two girls' names are Ashley and Emma. Ashley Faith is sixteen years old turning seventeen and joined this contest to achieve her dreams of basically meeting celebrities, music and you know, VJ stuffs. She's extremely sweet, that you can't get mad at her. But she can be crazy at times, well we are all crazy and energetic. She's like our mom of the group, let's say. And now Emma Trinity, she's a cute ginger head girl. She just turned fourteen and she is crazy. This girl doesn't back down from anything. Dare her something, she'll absolutely do it. She joined this competition because her best friend dared her to and she didn't think she would get accepted in the top 12. But now that she knows the advantages of being a VJ, she wanted to continue her journey here.

As off for me, my name is Leah Katz and I am sixteen years old. I have brown wavy hair, I look younger than Emma, I guess? Well, I joined this contest for my family. My father passed away and as my mother was a housewife, she had to look for a job. But instead, due to my mother's depression state, she went to clubs every night and get drunk. Every morning, she would apologize as I bring her pills and a glass of water. When my little sister Isabella notices mother's drunken state, she would come over me and hug me. Then I would just bring her to my room. After two nights of my mother getting wasted, I looked for a job. We've been kicked out of our big house. We now live in a small apartment with two bedrooms, a kitchen, a toilet and a living room.

From then on, I was working at Starbucks. I entertain people as I kept chatting away with them, I dance out of no where or sing out of no where when there's no customer at the cash. Then one of my co-workers told me about this junior VJ search thing, I knew that I just had to sign up for this. So since I've told you on my life story, let's continue the REAL story.

The guys too were worried. Sean, Liam and Elliot were just sitting there, in front of us, on a similar red couch, heads in their hands. They didn't know what to do if they didn't get accepted, I guess. They were all good looking. Sean is seventeen, Liam is fifteen and Elliot is thirteen and I think he's turning fourteen... If we get accepted, we would all work together. I would love to work with them, I think we got along while the auditions. Suddenly, the door opens and Liz Trinnear came into the room with Scotty Williats tall figure following her. They both held a frown on their faces, which mean only one thing: bad news.

They opened their mouths as we all bowed our heads in defeat, and said, "YOU GUYS ARE OUR JUNIOR VJs!" I think I should say for all of us that, our moods completely changed. From depressed to wildly happy. We all cheered as we jumped into a group hug. I was so overwhelmed that I teared a bit. Liz pulled away from the group hug and saw me tearing, she hugged me individually and whispered in my ear, "Your family will be proud."

I surely hope so.

"Mom, I'm home!" I shouted in the small apartment and my little sister ran to me and hugged me, or more like my legs, and I grabbed her in my arms and twirled her around. The little three year old giggled in my arms and I put her back down. My mom came into the hallway and she looked a mess. Oh, she got drunk again. Isabella hugged my legs tight, showing that she's afraid of our mother. "Where did you go?" She asked as she went into the kitchen and poured herself a coffee.

"I got a new job. A better one." I said sweetly and my mom still didn't show concern. I am really disappointed since she couldn't see the efforts I'm putting for us to live. An uncomfortable silence passed by and I spoke up sadly, "It's on tv. You know, being a VJ?" My mom just nodded her head, still not caring. I sighed and just went into my room and Isabelle's room with the toddler in my arms. Isabella was looking at me with a smile, which was contagious. I smiled back at her and said, "Looks like your big sister is going to be on tv!"

I got my camera from my bag and put it on my desk and recorded Isabella's reaction. Isabella was jumping around our room and was cheering. She went on the bed and began jumping on it as I just laughed harder and joined her. Isabella saw the recording camera and ran over it to say, "CHANK YOUU."

***********

"Hello, dear Elizabeth." I greeted my co-worker in Starbucks, the one who told me about the VJ search. She looked at me weirdly, noticing my happiness. And then her face brightened, because I am never this happy. "Oh what happened?" She asked giddily. I smiled at her and grabbed my apron to put it on. As I put it, I answered her, "Guess who's a VJ?" Elizabeth started squealing like a thirteen year old. A twenty year old reliving her thirteen years, weird right?

"As much as I want to ask you how it was, we have to get to work." El said and I nodded, serving customers.

~6 hours later....

It's now 6 pm and my shift is soon over... Well if two hours is 'soon', then you can say that. I noticed that the garbage was full so I took it outside. As I dumped the garbage, I bumped into someone, which made their coffee spill on me.

"I am soo so--" I started saying, but the guy interrupted me. "Watch where you're going!" Wow, rude much? "Actually, I am not sorry at all." I said as I bumped into his shoulder. He grabbed my elbow, preventing me from going back into the coffee shop. "What did you say?" He said harshly and I just pushed him, to get away from his hold. I grabbed the coffee out of his hands and he looked at me with a confused expression as I had a smug look on my face. I took of the cap off the coffee cup and poured all the liquids over his head that was covered with a beanie. This guy had shades and it was 6 pm in the winter, it's pretty dark by now. As soon as I poured the coffee, I immediately felt guilty, but he was so rude! "Take that, rude and Mr-know-it-all boy." I said as I placed the cup in his hand and went back in Starbucks. I just hope we wont meet again.
