"I think it was him," Jullian whispered, catching Eldric and the Jack's attention.
"Are you sure?" It was Jack who asked, as the muscle in his jaw tighten.
Jullian simply ignored him and looked at Eldric.
"I'm going to inform queen about it," Eldric said with wide eyes, and burst out of the room, his feet carried him swiftly down the corridor, the sound of his hurried steps echoing through the stone walls.
Time seemed to slip away like sand through an hourglass. It wasn't long before the queen, entered the room. Her heels clicked against the marble floor, her steps were fast towards Jullian.
Jullian stand up from his chair and said, "Mother, The demon king took Raisel,"
"I know," She replied, as she swiftly examined Jullian face, before continuing. "You're going to the demon kingdom to save her,"
"I'm going with him," Jack interrupted, taking a step a forward.
"He's going alone, only with the knights," The queen answered, pursing her lips in a thin line.
"Why?"
"He isn't a kid anymore, he's twenty three old now he can easily deal with the demon king and save his Fiancée," The Queen answered, without looking at Jack, her eyes were still on Jullian.
Jack's knuckles turned white as his fists clenched tightly by his sides, his voice filled with unwavering determination. "I understand that he's grown up now, not a kid anymore. But, I feel this strong urge to lend him a hand in this situation."
Nyxia, maintaining her composure, responded calmly, "You don't have to worry, he's confident and capable of handling it on his own."
Jullian nodded in agreement, his eyes meeting the queen's gaze, silently conveying his understanding.
The queen said, her voice barely above a whisper, "I want it verbal, my son."
"Yes, I will embark on a rescue mission to save the Princess of Anosea."
Jullian often found himself caught in a whirlwind of emotions when it came to his mother. There were times when she would embrace him with warmth and love, making him feel like the most cherished person in her life. Her caring nature would shine through, and Jullian would feel a deep connection with her.
However, there were also moments when his mother's demeanor would change abruptly. She would become distant, her words laced with an icy tone that seemed to freeze the air around them. It was during these times that Jullian struggled to understand her conflicting behavior.
In his heart, Jullian wanted to believe that his mother possessed the remarkable ability to fulfill both roles – that of a nurturing mother and a formidable queen.
Perhaps, he thought, she was trying to strike a delicate balance between her personal love for him and the responsibilities she held as the ruler of their kingdom.
A faint smile tugged at the corners of the queen's lips. "That's pleasant to hear," she said sternly.
Frustration boiled within Jack, causing him to lose his temper. His voice rose in anger as he shouted, "Why are you so cold and harsh towards your own son?"
In that moment, the Queen turned her attention towards Jack, her gaze piercing as she spoke up. "Sweetheart, that's not the way to address the Queen. Didn't your mother teach you proper manners?"
Jack's expression hardened, his anger evident as he bit down harshly on his bottom lip.
The Queen's gaze shifted away from Jack, her eyes fixating on the blank wall as she let out a soft smile. "Oh, I forgot that you don't have a mother."
