Niall’s P.O.V.

Zayn came over again, which pleased Mum. I debated on telling her that I found my mate. I decided to wait until Zayn left. It had only been one day and I already thought I loved Harry. I wish I had asked for his number. Zayn and quickly said hi to my mum before running upstairs to my room. I plopped on to my bed. I guess Zayn was becoming more comfortable around me because he sat at the edge of my bed.

“So what do you suggest we do?” Zayn asked.

“Well we should talk to our betas and maybe ask them about mating with each other,” I said.

“You really think they’d go for it?”

“If we tell them it’s for the good of the pack. Or maybe we’ll get really lucky and they’re actually mates.”

“I doubt that.”

“Anything could happen,” I shrug. We started playing Mario Kart again. Zayn left around eight again and promised he would talk to his beta. I tried to start my homework but I couldn’t focus. I kept on thinking about Harry. I was imagining his amazing smile when my phone rang. The name Zaynie popped up on the screen. I blinked a few times before answering.

“Yeah,” I said.

“Hey Ni, I’ve got good news.

“Alright spill,” I said.

“So my beta, Ryan’s his name, has a sister.”

“Yeah so?” I ask.

“His sister’s your beta’s mate.”

“How do you know that?” I demand.

“She told me.”

“Alright, awesome; we’ve just got to get them together.”

“She goes to our school. You know Cher Lloyd right?” Zayn asked. Of course I knew Cher. Almost everybody knew Cher. She was popular, head cheerleader. But she was actually really down to Earth unlike most cheerleaders.

“Wow Ed and Cher,” I mumbled thinking of my beta. Ed Sheeran had been my friend for a while. He was seventeen like me but his father died last year which left him to take over the roll as beta. Ed was very much like Liam. Quiet, shy, held in, and extremely smart. Now I had to get him together with one of the most popular girls at school. Right now I was doing too much match- making. I needed to get Zayn and Liam together, I needed to make Harry realize he was made for me, and now I had Cher and Ed.

The next day I made Louis sit with me, as I took a seat next to Ed in homeroom.

“Oh hey Niall and Louis,” Ed greeted us looking up from his book. I could tell he would get along with Liam and Harry at lunch today.

“Hey Ed, what’cha readin’?” I asked.  

“I don’t want to talk about books,” Lou whined. I rolled my eyes.

“Well we aren’t going to talk about carrots.”

“Please?” Lou asked. Ed laughed. We spent homeroom just talking. As we left Louis turned to me.

“What’s up with you lately?”

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“It used to be just me and you. It’s only been a week and we’re already hanging out with Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and now Ed Sheeran. Not that I have a problem with it I just wonder why you’re being so friendly all of a sudden.” I debated telling Louis the truth.
