You Kiss on Sidewalks pt. 1

Yura lounged by the pool, savoring the cool breeze and the refreshing drink in her hand. The sparkling water reflected the late afternoon sun, creating a serene atmosphere that contrasted sharply with the lively chatter and splashing sounds coming from the pool. She watched as the boys swam and laughed, feeling a sense of relief that Jeno seemed to be fitting in seamlessly with Kyubin's friends.

Jeno, who had been a bit of an outsider at first, was now fully integrated into the group. His natural charm and easygoing demeanor had won them over. Yura smiled, pleased to see him enjoying himself. Despite their ruse, she genuinely wanted Jeno to feel comfortable and welcomed during this trip. After all, he had agreed to help her out of kindness and friendship.

Her gaze drifted across the pool, settling on Kyubin. He was playing around with Ho-jun, Gil-sun, and Min-seok, his laughter ringing out loud and clear. His wide, easy smile was one of the traits that had made Yura fall for him in the first place. There was something about the way he carried himself, the effortless charm and warmth, that had always drawn her to him.

As she watched, memories of their time together resurfaced, unbidden. She remembered how they used to laugh like that, sharing inside jokes and stolen moments. A pang of nostalgia hit her, mingled with a tinge of sadness. Things had changed so much, and now he was with someone else.

"Enjoying the view?" a voice teased from beside her.

Yura jumped slightly, turning to see Jiwon standing there, a knowing smile on her face. "You seemed to be looking at your boyfriend, Jeno for a long time," Jiwon continued, her tone light but observant.

Yura's heart skipped a beat, guilt flooding through her. She hadn't been looking at Jeno at all; her gaze had been fixed on Kyubin. The realization made her feel worse, knowing she was looking at someone else's boyfriend, someone who used to be hers.

"Oh, um, yeah," Yura stammered, forcing a smile. "Just making sure he's fitting in."

Jiwon nodded, her expression softening. "He seems to be having a good time. It's nice that he can get along with Kyubin's friends."

Yura nodded, her smile wavering. She took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. "Yeah, it's important that he feels comfortable."

Jiwon turned to look at the pool, her eyes following Kyubin as he swam to the edge to take a break. "You know, Kyubin really wanted you to come here—not that I was opposed to it. I just realized, how much you meant to him. To fulfill such a promise." she said, her tone casual but inquisitive.

Yura swallowed hard, memories flooding back. "I mean, we were together for a long time. But it's over isn't it! You're the...present, and..." she finishes, nimbling on her lower lip to stop herself.

Jiwon glanced at her, a curious look in her eyes. "How long were you two together?"

"S..six years," Yura replied, her voice tinged with nostalgia.

Jiwon nodded, a thoughtful expression on her face. "That's a long time. It must have been hard to move on."

"It was," Yura lied, her eyes darting to Kyubin again. She knows for a fact, she hasn't moved on yet. "But life goes on, right?"

"Yeah," Jiwon agreed, her gaze following Yura's. "Kyubin told me a little about your relationship. He said you were really important to him."
