Gracie approached Charlotte and asked, "What's the issue between us?"

"What's the problem?" Charlotte sighed. "The problem is that you get whatever you want handed to you! You don't have to work hard for anything, and I'm sick of working my way up while you've been at the top since you were born! You have your dad's money and his fame!"

Gracie looked up at the furious girl and shrugged her shoulders "yeah, I guess so" she mumbled all casual "I mean, things just kinda happened for me. Luck, I guess." She sounded unsure, like she didn't really try much. She didn't look at the girl standing in front of her, instead she picked at her fingernails hoping they'd talk about something else soon.

Charlotte folded her arms, her expression sceptical. "Luck, huh? Seems to me like you've got more going on than just luck" she remarked, her tone tinged with suspicion. "I bet your daddy pays everyone so you're always at the top, am I right?" Charlotte smirked, lifting Gracie chin with her thumb to meet her eyes.

Gracie hesitated, then stuttered nervously, "n-no, that's not true! I-I've worked hard too, you know..." She avoided Charlotte's gaze, feeling a pang of insecurity. After a moment, she bit her lip, hoping Charlotte would believe her despite her own doubts.

Charlotte scoffed dismissively, rolling her eyes. "Sure, Gracie, whatever you say" she replied sarcastically, her tone dripping with disbelief. "Just remember, luck can't buy everything forever. You're going to lose at one point Gracie."

And with that, Charlotte stormed out of the guest bedroom, which doubled as Gracie's room, and stomped down the stairs to join the party already in full swing.

It was past three in the morning, and the house stank of alcohol so bad it almost made me gag. As the party started to thin out, Liv and I went around, kicking out everyone who was very drunk or passed out on the ground due to being too intoxicated.

As we searched for people passed out or heavily intoxicated, thoughts of Gracie crept into my mind. I hadn't seen her since our argument upstairs, and I worried if I had been too harsh. But then I pushed those thoughts away, telling myself not to care because she always gets what she wants and acts like a spoiled daddy's girl.

Outside, the cool night air hit me as I escorted the last of the rowdy guests to their rides home. Liv and I shared exhausted glances, silently acknowledging the long night we had endured, knowing it was finally time to get some decent sleep before heading back to work the next day.
