Part 7: The Betrayal

Months had passed since Taehyung and Y/n had reaffirmed their commitment to one another. Their bond seemed stronger than ever, and their love was a tower against the disorderly world of the underworld mafia. However, even the toughest walls can have cracks in them and thats what Taehyung and Y/n was about to be tested.

Y/n had always trusted her instincts. Lately, her instincts had been screaming at her that something was wrong. There were whispers in the dark about a plot that involved her directly. She had brushed off these hunches at first, unwilling to believe that Taehyung, her partner and lover, could be keeping something from her again. But the feeling grew too strong to ignore.

Taehyung was away for business, so Y/n decided to follow her gut. She started a careful search in Taehyung's office, looking through files, drawers, and the secret spots she was familiar with. In a locked drawer at the bottom of his desk, she found a file called "Project Phoenix."

With trembling hands, she opened the file and began to read. Her heart sank with each word. The papers revealed a scheme by Taehyung to fortify power by betraying some allies, including Y/n herself. The plan was dark and sinister, and it was carefully made to ensure Taehyung's dominance and make him the leader at the cost of her freedom.

Y/n's mind raced as she absorbed the betrayal. The man she loved, the one who had promised her honesty and loyalty, had been plotting against her all along. Every sweet word, every tender touch, now felt tainted with dishonesty. She sat in Taehyung's chair, the file clutched in her hands. She felt a mix of anger, sadness, and confusion. How could he have done this? How could he have looked her in the eye, shared her bed, and still conspired against her? The heartbreak was unbearable. She remembered their nights of passion, the promises, and their plans together. She had thought they were a team, but now it seemed he had been playing a different game all along. The realization cut deeper than any physical wound ever could.

Y/n knew she couldn't confront Taehyung immediately. She needed time to process and plan her next move. But as the days turned into weeks, the weight of the secret grew heavier. She found it increasingly difficult to look at Taehyung without her emotions spilling over. Every smile, every touch, every kiss felt like a lie. Unable to bear it any longer, she decided it was time.

She waited for Taehyung to return from his meeting, her heart pounding in her chest. When he walked through the door, she was sitting in the living room, the "Project Phoenix." file on the table in front of her.

Taehyung's smile faded when he saw her expression.

Tae: Y/n, what's wrong?

She stood, her eyes filled with hurt and anger.

Y/n: I found this. Would you care to explain?

Taehyung's face went pale. He stepped closer, his hands raised in a calming gesture.

Tae: Y/n, let me explain.

She shook her head, tears welling in her eyes.

Y/n: I trusted you, Taehyung. I believed in you. And all this time, you've been plotting against me? How could you?

Taehyung took a deep breath.

Tae: It's not what it looks like. I had to make certain moves to protect us, to ensure our survival.

Y/n: By undermining me? By betraying my trust? You promised me, Taehyung. No more secrets, no more lies.

Tae: I did it for us. I needed to secure our position to make sure we were safe.

Y/n: Safe?

Y/n laughed bitterly.

Y/n: Do you think I feel safe knowing the man I love has been conspiring against me? You've broken my heart, Taehyung.
