Edd's POV (it's been such a long wait ◐ω◑  ) :

The doorbell rang, the sound echoing through our empty house. It would've been a flat out lie to say this house wasn't huge. For cola's sake, we even had a movie theater!

"I'll get it!" I yelled.

It's not that I didn't appreciate our butler's efforts, but I also valued my own independence. If I couldn't even open my own door, what kind of person was I becoming? The answer: lazy and overly dependent on my parent's money.

"Of course sir." Said Winwick, our butler mentioned previously. He sidestepped allowing me to pass through.

I tugged open the oversized doors, to see a very shocked looking Tord. His mouth hung agape, while he gawked at the house.

"Hi Tord!" I greeted.

I waved a hand, trying to snap him from his daze.

"Huh- Oh. Hi Edd." His eyes looked red, like he'd been crying.

It made sense. Both his parents had died. And while he was away from home, no less. It probably felt terrible. I knew I felt pretty bad when my cat Molly had passed away. It was a poor comparison, I knew, but it was about as close as I could relate to the situation.

"Come on in." I said, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.

I guided him up to my bedroom, probably the smallest and messiest room in the home. Tord seemed more at ease in it though.

"Do you have any luggage?" I asked. It wasn't likely he was going to do much of the talking right now.

He nodded softly, raising up a red duffle bag. I quickly grabbed it and placed it on my bed.

"You wanna watch a movie to pass the time?"

He nodded once more. I plopped down on my bed, waving him over too. He sat down on the corner, looking uncertain.

"It's fine if you wanna lie down. Just take off your shoes." I made sure to remain gentle as I talked. Poor Tord looked ready to burst into tears.

He shuffled slowly, adjusting to a more comfortable position. I flicked on Return of the Insane Zombie Pirates from Hell 3, a classic. Tord chuckled quietly at that, although I wasn't exactly sure why. After an hour or so of watching, he had drifted off into sleep, his head resting on my shoulder.

Tord's POV:

I woke up screaming and thrashing.

Edd on the other hand woke up looking right as rain. Till he heard me screaming of course. Then he was wildly shaking me awake.

"Tord! Tord! What's wrong?!" He yelled between shakes.

My eyes flew open. A very worried Edd hung over me.

"I'm... fine." I responded, pulling myself up.

"Waking up screaming doesn't really sound fine to me." Edd said with a skeptical look.

"I'm fine, really." I assured.

I wasn't speaking the truth, but I didn't want to worry Edd any more than I already had.

He gave a frown that said: "I know you're lying, but I would feel bad for asking." , so he didn't pry any further.

I guess I'm glad Edd is more emotionally conscientious than me.

Propping myself up fully, I turned to look at Edd. His long bangs had finally been brushed back far enough to show his eyes. I'd almost forgotten how bright they were. Two glowing green pupils, looking back at me in curiousity.

Realized I had been st
