Sorry, guys and girls, for no chapter yesterday. I have writer's block. I cannot think of anything to write, and even if I do write something down, it doesn't come out as I want it to. So, the chapter will be late. I think this writer's block is because I am doing many things in real life, which cuts down on my time to write. But anyway, for explanation, izuku didn't try to punch the Nomu as he thought it could tank hits with little to no effect. The villain said Nomu was made to kill All Might, and izuku figured it should have multiple quirks. For example, izuku thought that Shoto has two quirks, one for fire and the other for ice. So, in his mind, some people can have multiple quirks, and they can definitely create (experiment) people with multiple quirks. Since they said it was made to kill All Might, it either needed to have a quirk that regenerated health, absorbed shock, or simply boosted its endurance by hardening body parts. Since Nomu didn't harden any body parts, izuku was left with the other two possibilities. As it could be either of the two quirks, izuku wanted to be efficient and choke the Nomu, figuring it should have a normal human skeletal system and blood system. By stopping the blood flow to the head, he could make it unconscious and possibly kill it. Since it was a constant force, there was no shock to absorb, and because the brain was deprived of blood, the regeneration quirk couldn't make blood. This countered both quirks, so even if the Nomu had either or both quirks, the plan would still be the same. This is why izuku did what he did in the fight.
