Origins

A shining light of the First Sphere expansion, Sa'cea has been an integral building block of the Tau Empire since its beginning. Sa'cea is an arid, sun-blasted desert world barely forgiving enough to tolerate life.

Fire Caste Commander Shas'O Dia'jora, called Tidesurge, masterminded the new world's colonisation. Sa'Cea is a boiling desert teeming with enormous fire-breathing reptiles, the largest of these monsters are called Grandmother Serpents. Commander Tidesurge, in a scene depicted in Tau art, slew a Grandmother Serpent by using her Battlesuit's Fusion Blaster to get a fatal headshot. Ever since on Sa'cea, the Trial by Fire to become Shas'O is slaying a serpent single-handedly as Tidesurge once did

Stemming from this tradition of 'dragon-slaying' in the early stages of Sa'cea colonisation, Sa'cea Commanders are often given ocean-themed or water-themed titles, as they 'put out' the fire caused by these dragons.

Once the planet's creatures had mostly been neutralised, the Earth Caste were hard at work on vast construction projects, making the world fit for habitation. In only a few decades, permanent agriplexes littered the world, and in time it would be home to trillions

Culture

Sa'cea is a strict, ordered, militaristic society and this rigidity spans across all areas of daily life. Sa'cea Tau have cultivated a reputation as stoic, blunt and even rude to other Tau, and favour combat in urban areas like their homeworld.

Like every Sept in the Tau Empire, Sa'cea has a constant stock of Auxiliary xenos species, and those that fit the culture most are the war-like Tarellians and the orderly humans; Gue'vesa

Due to their short lifetimes, if a Tau Commander in any Sept serves with distinction, they are often frozen in stasis to prolong their life. The Sept keeps these heroes in vast stasis chambers, and will only awaken them when a conflict arises worthy of their skills.
