It was your 4th official anniversary since you two not only got together but moved in, and Vinny had decided that today was the day he'd pop the big question. He had taken you to dinner earlier and told you to dress up.
However, you were taking a stroll to the park. In his plan, he was going to take you on a nice stroll and then take you to the same cliff where you confessed your feelings.
The two of you walked side by side, his hand laced in yours and a nervous feeling pooling in his stomach.
The two of you finally made it to the cliff, where a bunch of blankets were laid on the grass and the sunset was in the distance.
"Gosh, how long has it been since we came here?" you sighed, taking in the view before looking back at Vinny, who was unusually quiet.
He looked absolutely sun-kissed, his red hair shined, and his eyes reflected the same view you were just admiring, not to mention his lips, which were a perfect pink.
"About five years," he hummed, sitting down next to you near the pile of blankets.
Despite the whole day being planned out, everything was going absolutely wrong according to his plan, which made him question if now was even the time to ask.
Both of you stayed silent in the smooth serenity of the day, and just as the sun was about to set in the distance, Vinny spoke, his thoughts muddling in his mind.
It was now or never.
"Princess-," but before Vinny could say anything, the loud barking of a dog near the outskirts of the park interrupted him, and he could only sigh frustrated as he looked at you sprawled out on the blankets.
You looked over as if curious about what he was going to say before paying attention to the dog and letting your fingers play with the hem of the blanket.
Gaining the courage now that the dog had stopped barking, Vinny decided to ask you again, only for the sound of rustling leaves behind you to startle him as a small bunny hopped out, feasting on leaves near by.
Vinny groaned in irritation, running a hand through his hair. He had planned this moment for the past few damn months, only for it to go wrong.
"Look at the cute bunny, love! It kind of reminds me of you," you said with a toothy grin as you let the bunny hop into your arms, petting it softly with your fingers, easily getting distracted from whatever Vinny was going to say.
Despite his irritation, Vinny couldn't help the smile that formed on his lips from seeing you so happy. You seemed to love the bunny just as much as Jack, the small cat you two owned. It made a small chuckle escape his lips.
