Two years later, and Serenity is still in confinement. Obviously that's to be expected since she committed a crime, but she thought that by this point her parents would pulled a few strings to have taken her out. Not that she's complaining, because she's made a few friends and actually felt like she's belonged somewhere, but it would be nice to not be stuck in a concrete box all day.

The door to her cell buzzed open, and two guards came in. "Face the wall." One ordered. Serenity's brows furrowed, "What for? I'm not supposed to have a retrial for another three months."

"Quiet. Face the wall," He repeated. Serenity rolled her eyes, facing the wall. If this was any other day she would've talked back, but she wasn't in the mood to get tased today. "Give me your arm."

Serenity stuck out her arm, "Why? Did you guys stop floating people and started giving the lethal injection? Gotta say, not impressed. Much rather go out seeing the stars."

The other guard put this metal bracelet onto her arm, causing her to wince at the feeling of tiny needles stabbing her all around. They shoved her out of her cell, telling her to follow the traffic. The skybox was full of teens outside their cell, something that's never happened before. They were all heading to the exit, and Serenity asked the boy closest to her, "Do you know what's happening?"

"No, no one does." He shrugged. They made their way out the skybox and through the hall to.. a drop-ship? Maybe they're killing us all at once this time, Serenity thought. Goodbye, cruel world. It sucked being here.

It took a while for everyone to board, and soon enough the guards were slamming the door shut, sending the drop-ship down. Everyone was talking amongst themselves, the ship shaking and lights flickering. Several TV monitors flickered on, revealing Thelonious Jaha, the chancellor.

"Prisoners of the ark, hear me now. You've been given a second chance, and as your chancellor it is my hope that you see this as not just a chance for you, but a chance for all of us," Jaha's voice rang out. "Indeed, for mankind itself. We have no idea what is waiting for you down there, and If the odds of survival were better, then we would've sent others. Frankly, we're sending you because your crimes have made you... expendable."

Serenity rolled her eyes. What a self-righteous prick. He's sending a bunch of kids down on a suicide mission because he's too scared to face the danger himself? Some leader he is.

"Your dad's a dick, Wells!" Some guy jeered, causing others to laugh.

"The drop-site has been chosen carefully: Before the last war, Mount weather was a military base built within a mountain that was to be stocked with enough parachutes to sustain 300 people," Jaha's recording continued, but everyone had lost interest at this point.

A boy took off his seatbelt and was floating throughout the pod, making his way towards Wells. "Looks like your dad floated me after all," He said, crossing his arms.

"You should strap in before the parachutes deploy," Wells told him. Two other kids saw the floating boy and followed suit in unbuckling their safety belts. The blonde girl beside him saw this and called out to them, "You two! Stay put if you want to live."

The floating boy turned his attention to her, "Hey, you're the traitor who's been in solitary for a year."

"You're the idiot that wasted a month of oxygen on an illegal spacewalk," The girl snapped back. Serenity was heavily annoyed at the shenanigans that were already happening. There was already drama and they haven't even been out of confinement for an hour. This is who she has to go to Earth with? She'd be lucky if they survived past the first day.
