Sometime later, her and Ken part ways. Her phone gets a buzz as she looks at a message from office.

"Set a course for KDF headcourters"

Taking a deep breath, Amari heads to the office, mentally preparing herself before she enters the lab. The AI greets her as she steps in.

"Welcome back, Dr. Akashe," the AI chirps.

"Thank you, Mari," Amari replies, the lights sparking to life as she takes in the grandeur of her mother's office.

After the loss of her father, things hadn't been the same. Her mother buried herself in work, willingly staying longer as she found solace and distraction in scientific pursuits. The only time Amari felt close to her was when she was Dr. Akashe, on the verge of a groundbreaking discovery along Dr R Akashe, her mother.

Never has herself, never as just Amari

She gazes at the shelf adorned with numerous awards, a reminder to her mother's professional success.

"Endless awards, but was it worth your relationship with me?" Amari murmurs to herself, her eyes lingering on a photo of her mother, the greying hair a stark contrast to her still youthful appearance.

Memories of their last conversation haunt her. "What do you mean, you're going?" she had asked, watching her mother pack devices into a suitcase.

"Someone has to search for Emico," her mother had replied, focused on the task at hand.

"Shouldn't we leave that to the authorities or Mr. Sato?" Amari had questioned, a tinge of selfishness creeping into her tone.

"The police are ineffective, and Mr. Sato has his duties as Ultraman here in the city," her mother had countered.

"And I need you," Amari had admitted, the unspoken longing finally finding a voice.

Her mother had paused, closing the suitcase slowly before meeting Amari's gaze. "I need you here too, Amari," she had confessed, the vulnerability in her voice surprising Amari. "not only as Dr Akashe but also as Ultraforce"

But the moment had been fleeting. "You're a big girl; you don't need me anymore," her mother extinguished any flicker of feeling her daughter tried to reveal. Leaving her behind to feel alone and unheard.

As she stands in the office, lost in her thoughts, her robot assistant alerts her to a significant development. "Dr. Onda has authorized the plans for the Gigantron project."

Amari's expression hardens as she processes the information. "When was this finalized?" she demands, her voice cutting through the air.

"One hours, twenty-one minutes, and twenty-two seconds ago, during your temporary absence, Dr. Akashe," the AI responds, its blue light flickering.

Without wasting another moment, Amari strides to Dr. Onda's office, the man responsible for the decision she strongly opposes. She pushes open the door, meeting his gaze with a mixture of betrayal and determination.

"You promised you wouldn't harm them," Amari accuses, her mother's principles echoing in her words.

"That promise has expired," Dr. Onda retorts, his tone unwavering.

"And now, so has my respect for you," Amari shoots back.

"I have a say"
"Your say is invalid"
"and so is yours without the vote of my mother."

"But she isn't here to make that vote is she?" he countered.
"Nor is she here to see what sick things your plotting"

"Amari" Dr Onda warned
"Dr Onda" She spoke just as menacingly. "I am her representative, I am to make her vote"

"on who's grounds"

"Dr Onda, you're being difficult. You know well the authority I possess here especially in my mother's absence" Amari reminds coldly. "It's evident that your judgment has been clouded by emotion, leading to unsound decisions. Your choices from now on will have dire consequences, potentially contributing to the genocide of an entire species," she reminds. "Scientists make discoveries not end them. Now, can you truly call yourself a scientist?"

Suffocating silence filled the room.

"37 hours," Dr. Onda finalizes, giving Amari a deadline to defy him anyhow to try stop him. "37 hours and you'll have an audience to present your arguement. Then we'll leave it to them to decide"

He says "I owe you that much because of your mother"

Amari fist clench as, knowing the man was far gone. He would not listen to her, that much is clear but he was willingly to let her have her say, after all.
