CAPITULO 4: Boyfriend Of Who?

"Kuya-dito!!"

When I thought it's almost over, I suddenly heard a familiar voice. My eyes were blurry as I watched the dark clouds and the pour of the rain dropping in my face.

"PSST! HOYY!!!"

Nagsitabihan ang mga nakapaligid sakin at bigla ito nagsi takbuhan. I was left laying on the cold ground. Like a wasted thing. I heard a footsteps coming. I managed to move my hand only to see her coming to me. She kneeled down and was speechless as she approache me. Hindi niya alam kung hahawakan niya ba ako o kakausapin. She's panicking.

"V-vince-s-shit you're bleeding too much! k-kuya! TULONG!!" Naomi shouted as she finally held my hand, pressing it gently.

I closed my eyes as I sighed. I pressed her hand back and opened my eyes as I looked at her. Lumapit samin ang dalawa lalaki. It's two policemen. They were trying to ask me some question but I'm too weak to speak back. The other policed called an ambulance and it makes me worried. Na baka makarating ito kay Kenny at Caroline. They will be worried.

"H-hey..." I called Naomi as she helped me lifted myself. Nilagay niya ang isa ko braso sa balikat niya for support. She stared at me waiting for my response. "Don't tell my parents...don't tell anyone what happened here." mahina ko bigkas at nanlalabo na ang mata. I feel weak.

I was worried she couldn't lift me because I'm too big for her. The two policemen called some help and I get this chance to talk to her.

"I-I promise..." she said and a worried on her voice.

I nodded and smiled. "Thanks...Naomi,"

My eyes finally shut down. I fell on her and she catche me. Everything went black. As my consciousness faded, I held on to the last bits of sensation. Naomi's grip on me was firm but trembling, like she was using all her strength to keep me standing. I could feel her heartbeat against my arm.

The last thing I felt before the darkness took over completely was the gentle squeeze of her hand.

I don't know how many hours was passed when I woke up inside the hospital room. It was blurry at first but when I blink twice it's starting to regaining my eyesight. And I wasn't alone. Bumaling ako kay Naomi na nakaupo sa sofa sa gilid ko. She's sleeping while just sitting there. Her glasses had slid down to the tip of her nose. Had she really been here all this time, just watching over me? I remembered everything now. I guess I am lucky that I'm still alive because of her.

Pinilit ko igalaw ang katawan. I endured the pain just to sit. I looked at my body. I'm wearing now a hospital clothes with my arms full of bandages wrapped and I also have a wrapped bandage around my neck. I pulled back the covers to inspect my legs. They too were bandaged. I sighed and glanced at the wall clock. It was already 5:50 in the afternoon.

Tumingin ako sa coffee table at nakita doon ang helmet and jacket ko. Ngumiwi ako nang ginalaw ang binti para ibaba ito sa kama. Hinawakan ko ang tiyan habang tumayo mula sa kama. I walked towards the table.

Nasa harap na ako ng lamesa nang napahinto. I stared at Naomi. She was sleeping peacefully. Mahuhulog na ang salamin nito dahil gumalaw ng kaunti ang ulo niya. Quietly, I walked over to her, careful not to wake her. I gently took off her glasses and supported her head as she stirred slightly. She almost fell. Maingat ko siya hiniga sa sofa without waking her up.

I stared at her while she's sleeping peacefully. I lean closer and fixed her hair and put some of the strands at the back of her ear.

"Thank you..." I whispered.

"Vince...?"

Namilog ang mata ko at agad na umayos ng tayo dahil bigla siya nagising at naabutan ako sa ganun sitwasyon. I cleared my throat. Feeling awkward about it. Umayos siya ng tayo. Nang tignan ko siya ay tinitingala niya ako. She's squinting her eyes. I just realized she's not wearing her eyeglass. I gave it to her. Agad niya yun sinuot at tiningala ako.
