Hi readers,
I'm not really sure how to start this, but I just want to thank you all so much for waiting for me. I'm really sorry for disappearing for a month without any updates. A lot has been happening in my life recently, and I had to prioritize my academics, especially since it's midterm season. There's just so much to memorize and study, and honestly, I feel a bit lost.
Every day, I come home from school completely drained. I collapse onto my bed, sleep, and then study again. That's been my routine these past few days, and it's been really hard to find time to write. (I might have forgotten some details in the plot, so please feel free to correct me!)
On top of that, my laptop has been acting up—it gets a bit laggy sometimes, which hasn't helped. But I still hope you enjoy this chapter! It's a bit more thrilling than romantic, and there isn't much focus on SaKin in this one. But let's see what happens in the next chapter...

"We need to leave now, Sage. Naomi probably is on her way already."
I pulled away from Kinsley the moment Yutaro's words hit me like a cold gust of wind, snapping me back to reality.
Napapikit ako, agad na pinunasan ang mga luha bago pa ito tumulo. Hindi ito ang tamang oras para magpakalunod sa emosyon. I needed to focus—focus on getting them out of here, safe. That was my job now.
Taking a deep breath, tumayo ako at tumingin kay Kinsley. Her eyes were still glistening, a trace of worry lingering behind those soft features. I pointed toward the bedroom.
"Baby-Get our things. We're leaving."
Without waiting for her reply, I turned to Kenny.
"Kenny, how many guns do you have? May extra ka ba?"
He didn't hesitate. Tumango siya and opened his jacket, revealing two pistols tucked inside. I nodded.
"Good."Bumaling ako kay Carol who was holding Vinny and Hope. "Take care of them, Carol."
She nodded, her eyes wide with understanding, holding both kids closer.
"Now, let's move."I commanded, and everyone sprang into action.
Before Kinsley could move, I grabbed her gently by the arm, leaning in to kiss her forehead. The soft press of my lips lingered there for a moment. She gave me a small, tight smile, before slipping into the room to pack.
I walked over to Kenny, who tossed me one of his pistols. I caught it mid-air and checked the magazine, ensuring it was fully loaded before tucking it securely behind me, under my shirt. I slipped on my leather shoes quickly, the cool material pressing against my bare feet. Kinuha ko ang nakasabit na black leather jacket sa hanger near the door, sliding it on as Kenny, Taro, and I stepped out into the hallway.
