「 ✦ Chapter 12 ✦ 」

THE ENTIRETY OF LAST NIGHT was just so unbelievable that it felt more like a dream,  it was alarming how swiftly it all had happened. Fay is in denial, she isn't accepting the fact that she'd just gotten kidnapped, luckily she wasn't too harmed, just a few bruises and cuts, but they'd drugged her heavily. Currently, she's lying on the couch with a massive hangover.

Malachi was like a light switch, one second he was only thinking, asking, and talking about Fay, but once she was brought back he'd quickly shut down anything regarding her, sitting on the opposite couch, barely looking at her.

I felt he was still processing it. He'd consumed Ecstasy as well as a shit ton of Hennessy after retrieving Fay, he mustn't remember a lot. And he's got a massive headache, I know this because he literally said so.

"We have to tell the police." Elèria informs nowhere, she'd been so quiet as of last night and now she's so chatty, in a good way because I've experienced her not talking to anyone for days and it is not a nice feeling, sometimes she just doesn't talk because she doesn't feel like it, other times you've done something wrong for her to feel like crap. "Don't you understand why we are doing this ourselves? It's because the police can't help us." Reece sharply told, more in a scolding way which is odd because I SWORE he had a thing for her.

"I know that, of course. B-but can't we at least try?" She fiddles with her thumbs and shrinks under his judging gaze. I scowl at that. "Eléria is right, " I started straight at the blonde Ari Gibson in my kitchen. "We could at least try, and plus we can get evidence of how crappy our police force is." I state, and I can see El send me a grateful look and I wink at her.

"Yeah that sounds good." Malachi and Fay say in unison, the tension is thick between them once the words had been settled, both of them hadn't spilled a single word in hours. "Yeah." Addison agrees, clearing the air.

All eight of us huddled around Jaylen, who'd pulled out his phone before the lot of us could, and dialled 911.

"911 what's your emergency?" Had all of us looking at each other to figure out what to tell the dispatcher. "Hello? last night my friend got kidnapped and we've all been getting harassed by a teach-"

"I've had it with you kids, don't call unless It's a real emergency, faking this shit isn't a good look on you." I gape at the phone, dumbfounded, I mean I didn't really expect them to believe us but is she seriously being so rude?

"Ma'am I'm gonna need you to shush because our FRIEND got KIDNAPPED, is that really something you as a person who has devoted themselves to help people in these situations are gonna ignore just because we're some kids?" I snatched his phone and  violently shouted. May I just mention that I've always been a Blair Waldorf girl.

The dispatcher was speechless, and I could tell because I could hear her trying to voice her anger or whatever she felt but all that came out was weird and short noises. "Preposterous, I've NEVER in my 20 years of being a dispatcher been treated this way, pranks aren't funny when asking someone who helps REAL PEOPLE with REAL CRIME, good day!" I gaped even wider when she hung up, the guts she has to do that, I'm so gonna get my brother to hunt her down.

"See, it doesn't help at all." Reece glared at Eléria who hugged her legs and looked up at him. "Besides, it was pointless we all knew they wouldn'-"

"I recorded it like we said we would." Lucas held up his phone and waved it around, "Don't blame her, it was a good idea." When have I seen Lucas be kind? Rarely. So seeing him defend Eléria in a cordial way was not what I had planned on my daily planner today, how sweet of him! "But otherwise Kiara that was so stupid, you do know they can track our location? Lashing out on her was so foolish of you." I roll my eyes, "Excuse you, Jaylen probably has a VPN, and plus you cannot be telling me that when you lash out on someone if they LIGHTLY TOUCH you on ACCIDENT!" I bitterly deliver.
