A week in, the next lesson in Heroics required a field trip. They were doing rescue training and had to go to the Unforseen Simulation Joint or USJ. They were, of course, in their hero costumes, but uniquely, on the bus, Koyuki decided to sit on her brother's left, but Kazan decided to sit next to her. She was really doing this in an attempt to increase her resistance to warmth because the sooner she did, the sooner her quirk would awaken.
They had arrived at the USJ got out of the bus in a reasonable manner, gathering in the main plaza to listen to Thirteen's speech on how every quirk can be harmful and how despite the danger their quirks can pose, they are still able to be used to help and rescue others.
It was immediately after she finished that a swirling portal of mist opened in the Central Plaza, and a mob of villains stepped out into the plaza. Aizawa jumps down to fight the mob of low ranking villains and fares well. However, the students are confronted by Kurogiri, who nearly gets sucked up by Thirteen's Black Hole quirk but Kurogiri turned it against her, tearing the back of her costume out and injuring her before teleporting and splitting up the students.
Koyuki was sent to the flood zone, along with Tsuyu and Kazan; Kazan's quirk being completely neutered by the water, Tsuyu swimming to the boat for safety, dragging Kazan to the boat and Koyuki freezing the water beneath her as she walked to the boat, which attracted the attention of some villains who were in the water. They started attacking her ice bridge, eventually knocking her into the water, making the white parts of her kimono now see-through because of them getting wet. In response, she froze half of them into an iceberg and used the fact that her skin is ice to float up to the surface and reach the boat.
She froze the water off of Kazan, allowing him to use his quirk again and instructed him to use his quirk into the water to deal with the villains, after which she flash froze the water, the entire deep lake of water. The three walked across the frozen lake and reached solid ground where they were witness to Aizawa getting his bones broken by the Nomu, after which...
"Nomu, kill the blue girl and the lava head." Tomura commanded it to do.
Koyuki tried to slow it down by summoning her clear ice spikes to stop it as it ran into them.
"Prism Prison." Koyuki named the special move as she summoned more ice spikes to not only pierce the nomu's legs but its waist as well.
The bird-headed beast screamed and roared in pain as it blitzed through the spikes and into spikes of burning magma, which Kazan had summoned from the ground with a flick of his wrist. The heat from which cauterised the holes punched through the nomu as it regenerated the ones created by Koyuki's ice. The holes didn't stop the Nomu from pushing through and sending Koyuki flying into the stairs with a punch.
She landed on her front, her head having hit one of the steps. The layer of ice over her skin in areas like a part of her arm where the nomu had grabbed her and her face and chest had flaked and shattered off, revealing her true skin colour, pale, almost white skin as the remaining ice on her face was becoming stained red with blood that was leaking from a cut on her forehead.
"You're going to have to try harder than that to kill me, coward." Koyuki said, mocking Tomura before sliding on her ice towards the nomu again.
"Flashfreeze Fist: Boreal Blast." Koyuki named her next attack, taking inspiration from her father's Flashfire Fist special move as she surrounded her fist with ice and punched the target with a concentrated jet of ice which sparkled like an aurora as it hit the nomu and froze it's entire upper body.
"Now, Shoto!" Koyuki called out to her twin brother as he launched a globe of fire towards the nomu, causing the cool air to superheat quickly and explode, basically evaporating the nomu's torso, leaving its hips, legs and an arm.
It was at that moment that All Might bust through the door to the USJ with a group of heroes in tow, but since the nomu had been killed and Tomura had escaped with minor frostbite from nearly being frozen solid by the Flashfreeze Fist's blast radius.
Overall, the students were fine, except Koyuki, who obviously had to reconstitute the ice covering her skin and have that cut on her forehead stitched up with dissolving stitches so she can just cover the cut with the thin layer of ice that was there before.
