we all four got out of the car and walked into nicole's house. belly and cam walked hand in hand while taylor and i followed. the party was already bursting with people.
i saw jeremiah sitting on the couch with a guy i hadn't seen before, surrounded by a group of people. that meant the boys had already made it here.
the second nicole saw us she came running up to belly to wish her a happy birthday. nicole then pulled us over to the other debs and taylor left to find herself a drink. when we met the debs, we also met an array of deserts and sweets just for bells birthday.
everyone said their happy birthdays to belly and we went into our normal conversations. all the debs were here except for shayla. nicole lit the candles and belly blew them out, earning a cheer from everyone. i went to go get a drink with gigi.
when we came back the conversation was on nicole and conrad. nicole said she didn't know what their relationship was and belly was asked if he had been hanging with other girls. she replied that he's always off by himself, which was true.
then they girls started asking belly and i who we were taking to the ball and when we were gonna ask. truth be told i blacked out on what belly had said. the only thing running through my head was how i wanted so badly to ask conrad to the ball, but i would never admit that, especially in front of nicole.
i then spotted conrad with some guys he occasionally used to hang out with in past summers. he glided his hands through his hair. i never quite saw him as attractive until this summer, i wasn't sure what was wrong with me. we made eye contact and suddenly he walked away. i also walked away to get another drink.
after getting my drink i caught up with jeremiah, who i hadn't said hi to yet. he saw belly and cam and looked and me and goes, "come here, watch this." so i followed him and took a seat next to belly on the couch.
i had no idea what he could have planned, but he took their karaoke machine and started singing summer nights. he was making an absolute fool out of himself, while having a blast. cam joined in and belly's cheeks turned red. nicole and some of the others were acting as their backup dancers. to be honest the whole thing was extremely fun to watch.
suddenly belly left the couch and wondered off, i almost chased after her but decided against it. i'm not sure what made her act this way it seemed as if cam and jere were having fun together.
i wondered away eventually to grab another drink and i ran into gigi and dara. we went out to the front lawn to get some fresh air and hang out with the other girls.
i hung with them for a bit until i saw the guys wandering outside to play beer pong. i don't like beer much, but i love beer pong so i went up to join them.
"hey ill catch up with you guys later ima go hang with the guys for a bit," i said as i walked away. i like hanging out with the deb girls, but the people i grew up with will forever be my favorites.
i joined on jere's team against conrad and the guy jeremiah was making out with when we got to the party. cam cameron was playing the role of umpire since he doesn't drink.
it was all smack talk until the deb ball got brought up. "cam have you started the waltz lessons yet? ms. covington's a real sadist," conrad asked. cam awkwardly replied, "belly hasn't really asked me. of course jeremiah butted in to lighten the mood, "oh i'm sure she will dude."
then of course the conversation got turned over to me, "have you asked anyone yet elle?" conrad asked. "no but i've got a few guys in mind," i replied, but the truth is i had no idea who to ask.
i shot another one and of course made it. then the front door opened and belly stormed out, she looked upset. "hey" she said, before asking cam if they could leave now. i knew something must have happened for belly to suddenly want to leave without saying anything to taylor and i, but i haven't seen much of her at the party.
