✎ An was eating lunch near the end of their last class, since she had missed actual scheduled lunch due to her hall monitor duties.
her stupidly annoying frenemy, Akito Shinonome, was humming loudly in the desk beside her. he was always annoying when he hummed and tapped his pen during class, but it was somehow even more annoying when he did it when she was just trying to enjoy the lunch she missed in peace.
so, the starry-haired girl turned to him, looking very annoyed with her hands on her hips. "Akito! a girl's trying to enjoy her lunch over here, y'know!" An fussed, but she got no reply. "Akitoooo????" she rolled her o's, trying to get the ginger's attention.
instead, he started clicking his tongue with the beat of his hums. was the song coming through Akito's crappy headphones that catchy that he didn't even notice An... or was he just ignoring her on purpose? An wasn't sure what the case was, but it was even, even more aggravating!
"arghh!!" An groaned, kicking the very focused Akito right in the ankle, instantly bringing his focus onto her. it worked every time, and An would consider it her best method to get the ginger to pay attention to her. and, yes, she had multiple.
"ow! An, what the frick!?" Akito yelled, pulling his headphones down and off of his ears. his voice was a bit higher pitched than An's, and he had more of a baby face.
so, whenever he got angry with her, it wasn't at all threatening and rather just... exceptionally hilarious... and maybe a little cute. An would never admit that, though.
An noted down every single teeny tiny thing about him, including some of his insecurities, especially his height. she made fun of him for his height a lot, even if he was literally just, like, two inches shorter than her.
she acted as if she was competing for a first place prize called 'The Top One Whom Made Fun of Akito Shinonome.' if that was an actual award, she would've won it by now, but, sadly for An, it was not.
"that'll teach you to pay attention to a girl when she's trying to talk to you!" An scoffed, taking her hands off her hips and crossing them over her chest. why did she care though? she didn't enjoy talking to Akito in the least, and she shouldn't care less if the idiot wanted to talk to her or not!
"'a girl?'" Akito quoted, raising an eyebrow at An. "you're more like a bug, or some weird creature," Akito shrugged those words out, his expression blank.
"a bug!?" An shrieked, feeling her face heat up in a mix of anger and embarrassment. "I am not a bug, you idiot!" she argued, continuing their banter. the girl usually had more of the upper hand, guess today wasn't her lucky day.
suddenly the bell rang, alerting the end of school for the day. "looks like we gotta get going, bug," Akito poked fun at An, getting out of his chair with a creak. An was still annoyed, but willingly followed along anyway, going off to their lockers.
walking down the hall, An spoke up, "also, calling me a bug actually makes no sense at all because you're the one that's all tiny and sounds like a squeaky toy..." An uttered under her breath, half-hoping that Akito didn't hear the last part.
"I am not tiny and I do not sound like a squeaky toy!" Akito talked back, making sure his 'not's' were loud and clear. An snickered evilly, proud of herself for angering Akito once again after her bad streak. "maybe today is my lucky day..." An thought to herself, just then realizing Akito had stopped in his tracks.
"hm?" An hummed out questioningly, checking on Akito, and then at where he was looking at. it was pouring out, and they were at the start of the lockers, just a few more steps before having to go outside in the rain.
