Gone Years

The Father told me about how he found me. I was astonished to find that my daughter's grandmother had my number. All these years not once did she call me. My heart was beating in a rapid race. My shirt was stuck to my back. I felt my whole body was on fire. I don't know why I am getting this nervous.

Maybe she won't want to come with me. I am more of a stranger to her tgan anyone else in this orphanage.She might think of me as a useless piece of shit. Where was I all these years. In my defence I never knew I had a daughter but she knew she had a dad.

A nun placed a steaming cup of tea infront of me. Suddenly the door to the room squeaked. I turned around . She was smaller for her age. Wide childlike eyes looked at me in shock. She recognised me. I felt a wave of emotions enveloping me. So crazy how one call can change your life.

She averted her eyes after the initial shock.All these years I lived alone. Had I known then I would have brought her with me. I lost so many good years of her life.
