GRADUATION. A KEY CONCEPT OF MANY LIVES AROUND THE WORLD. after years of work, it was finally accomplished for sakusa kiyoomi.

sakusa graduated months after the argentina vs. japan match, san juan victorious in the end.

days went on, and attempt after attempt, sakusa was not able to get in touch with alex after he arrived home.  she wouldn't even answer the door to her dorm when he'd try.

after awhile, he stopped trying.  he pushed her and her name, every memory pertaining alex, to the back of his head.

kiyoomi found a job at a law firm, becoming an attorney at law and representing people in the court room.  he managed his life in an orderly fashion, balancing being a black jackal and working.

sakusa walked into his team's home gym, many of the players being present, as well as iwaizumi hajime, the teams trainer, and kuroo tetsuro, the teams promoter.

"oi omi!  get yer ass over here you're late." atsumu spoke loudly, voice booming through the gym.

"yeah well i actually have a job and a life." he retorted, placing his belongings on a bench.  he took his jacket off, humming quietly to himself as he unpacked his bag.

"hey sakusa," tetsuro spoke, who was tossing balls to atsumu as he practiced his setting.  "you'll never guess who followed me back on instagram the other day."

sakusa looked at him as he tied his shoes, raising an eyebrow in a curious yet uncaring way.

"alex.  i didn't really think she would but, hey, i guess she's coming around." sakusa stared at him as he finished tying his last shoe, standing and turning his back towards them.

"don't know who that is." he spoke coldly, zipping his bag back up.  "let's do a practice game."

_________

sakusa sat in his car outside of the coffee shop near his home, waiting for confirmation that his order was complete.

the music was low, with the ac fanning on him slightly, as it was early july.  he scrolled through his phone as his finger tapped the steering wheel, seeing the notification that it was finally finished.

he got out of the car and inside, grabbing his things and thanking the workers before heading back out.

he drove home, enjoying how quiet the roads were on this night.  he parked, going inside and dropping his things.

"i'm back." he spoke, heading to the kitchen to place his coffee and food on the table.  "not that anyone's here to care."

he sat down, taking his sports jacket off and laying it on the chair behind himself.  he let out a quiet huff of air, opening his food and stirring his coffee.

he opened his phone as he ate, trying to fill the void of boredom.  he clicked on instagram, scrolling.

thoughts of his earlier conversation with kuroo rang through his head, his finger hovering over the search icon.

he clicked it, searching up her username in the search bar.  her account popped up quickly, kiyoomi noticing she had a story up.

he hesitantly pressed on her account, seeing her face pop up.  he put his sandwich down, scrolling slowly through her feed.  his hand rested on his forehead, pushing his hair back as he continued looking.

he had the most prominent frown on his face.  he scrolled back up to the top, eyes wandering to the story.  he pressed it slowly, dreading that it would be her and another guy.

he smiled once it opened, seeing just a picture of herself at the beach with some friends.

"god, i miss her."
