ALEX SAT ON HER COUCH, GOING THROUGH HER PHONE. SHE WAS ON instagram, clicking on her story. she had hearts from her friends and some randoms, scrolling through them and reading the usernames.
she saw a familiar one at the bottom, clicking on it.
"sakusa?" she said audibly to herself, shock all over her face. "i mean.. damn. i guess he still is thinking about me?"
she sighed, clearing her apps and putting her phone down. she stood, now trying to find something to take her mind off of him like she always did.
alex could admit, she wasn't anywhere close to being over kiyoomi. it had been 7 months since the night things ended, and it never got easier.
she loved sakusa whole-heartedly. even through his dick tendencies, she still knew a spot in her heart had his initials written all over it.
she cleaned her apartment up, organizing or cleaning anything that needed it. she finished her dishes, drying them after and placing them in the cupboards.
she turned around to examine her home, noticing everything was spotless. there was nothing left to do and he was still on her mind.
lex let out a loud groan, doing a few stomps in a tantrum-like way. she frowned, walking to the counter where she had left her phone turned over.
she unlocked it, clicking imessage. she typed his number in slowly, upset with herself that even though she deleted his contact, she had his number memorized.
she clicked on the text area, watching his number turn blue. she sighed, typing a "hey". her finger hovered over the button, staring at it as she decided whether or not she should even be doing it.
she deleted the message, heart deep in her chest. she continued to stare at his number, eyebrows furrowing deeper and deeper with every second she took.
"oh fuck this." alex retyped the "hey", clicking send as quick as she could. she shut the phone off, slapping a hand over her mouth. "oh fuck."
at his home, sakusa sat with his friends atsumu and osamu, hinata, iwaizumi, kuroo and bokuto. they were all talking as a few played a video game, some drinks being consumed.
just as a silence fell for a quick second, sakusa's phone dinged in that familiar high pitch tone. he glanced at his phone that was on the table in front of him, noticing an unsaved number.
he looked away and back to atsumu who was talking to him actively. he nodded as his friend talked, not being fully attentive to the convo. he had a slight buzz from the 3 beers he had consumed, and atsumu just talked too much sometimes.
the phone dinged again. he looked back at it, reaching for it and grabbing it this time. he opened the phone and went to the messages, analyzing the number.
sakusa's face went paler than it had ever been.

kiyoomi clicked his phone off slowly, dropping it on the table. he let out a breath he wasn't aware of holding, putting his head in his hands.
"she text me." he spoke warily, voice crackly.
"who did?" bokuto replied, everyone giving sakusa their attention.
"..alex." he sat up, laying his head back on the couch.
"no fucking way omi!" atsumu began to get hyped, everyone joining. sakusa just shook his head, misery written all over his face.
"it's not like that. she said she's ready to be friends again, but she just can't be with me." everyone shut up as the words left his mouth, sitting down slowly. everyone gave each other looks amongst themselves, knowing how they would've reacted to something like that.
"well, i mean..." kuroo spoke slowly. "at least she's back in your life?"
sakusa just nodded, rubbing his forehead. he stood after a moment, pushing his curls back. "i'll be back, gotta use the bathroom."
he made his way out of the living room, and to the bathroom. he entered quickly, closing the door behind himself, and pressing his back against the door.
he stood there, breathing to himself. he felt the same pain he felt the day she left argentina. he stood at the sink, splashing cold water on his face. he patted his face dry, staring at himself in the mirror as his thoughts raced through his head.
