Chapter 12: The Race Against Time
Maya's mind raced as she processed the revelation. She had to act fast, before the society discovered she was onto them.
"We need to get to the construction site," she said, her voice firm. "Now."
Sarah nodded, her eyes locked on the road ahead. "We'll get there, Maya. But we need to be careful. We don't know what we're up against."
As they sped through the night, Maya's heart pounded in her chest. She could feel the society closing in, their eyes on her.
Suddenly, Ethan's phone buzzed with an urgent message. "What is it?" Maya asked, her voice tight.
Ethan's face turned grim. "It's from our source inside the society. They're planning to destroy the evidence at the site. Tonight."
Maya's eyes met Sarah's, and she knew they had to act fast. They were running out of time.
