Yirin!!"  I yelled as I felt my voice getting raspy.  I couldn't even hear my own voice anymore...  I was shaking as my brother, the one who took care of me ever since our parents died, was lying dead in front of me.  I was holding his lifeless hand with my own.  He swore to protect me no matter what ever since our parents left.  "I guess you fulfilled that promise, Yirin." I said as tears flowed down my cheeks.  I got up and swore to take revenge on those who killed my brother.

Yirin was the best brother ever I thought to myself as I looked at Yirin, lying in the coffin.  I regretted leaving that night to go get food.  Me and Yirin lived in an apartment.  It was old and sometimes pieces of cement would fall from above. Ever since our parents died, we hardly had anything to get by.  Yirin said that he was going to go to the supermarket to get the ingredients for tonight's dinner.  We were always short on money.  Yirin worked multiple jobs to put food on our plate.  And he always tried his best to get my favorite foods.  Yesterday he said that he was going to the supermarket, but I thought he was tired since he just came back from work.  So, I decided to go instead of Yirin.  I got ready and started to leave.  "Be careful Yona." said Yirin.  Yes, my name is Yona.  When I was born my parents wanted me and my brother to have matching names, so they named me Yona.  Yona means peace or having a connection with animals.  I find that name suits me because I am an animal lover.  I left that night to go to the supermarket thinking if I should get a job or not.  Even if I make very little money, it will help us a lot.

To think about it, we haven't paid the rent yet.  The debt collectors came to collect our debt last week.  My brother somehow managed to ask for more time.  I think they were supposed to come today...  I stopped walking as soon as I thought of that.  My heart stopped for a minute.
I quickly ran home.  My mind was filled with negative thoughts.  I didn't even reach the market.  I was only halfway there before I turned around.  I didn't really care, my brother was more important.  I ran till my legs went numb.  I climbed up 3 sets of stairs since the elevators didn't work.  I ran to my door and quickly inserted the door key, then I opened the door.  As soon as I opened the door.  I fell backwards when I saw the place trashed.  It's as if a tornado came in and swept everything off its base.  I saw Yirin lying on the floor beside the kitchen counter.  He was bloody all over.  I quickly ran towards him.  I sat down beside him, putting my ear on top of his chest.

I could hear his heartbeat, but it was getting fainter by the second.  From the looks of it it looks like he was shot multiple times in the heart.  I cried as he used his last strength to say his last few words.  "Yona, listen carefully.  I know how strong you are.  Avenge me, get back at the people who killed me. " Said Yirin.  I knew he didn't have that much time left.  Even if we called 911, they would not make it in time.

"I love you, Yona." said Yirin.  "I love you too big bro." I said as tears flowed down my cheek.  I couldn't speak.  I couldn't move.  I sat there for hours thinking only one thing.  "Was this real?"

I looked at Yirin lying in the coffin.  I had enough money saved up to buy a coffin for Yirin.  I started to save money in case something happened.  Yirin did know about the stash because we both came up with it.  It was an emergency stash.  It had around 5,000 dollars in cash.  I packed my things and left a note with &300.  The note was for the loan sharks.  Just in case they come back and take the money they won't follow me anymore.

My heart stung after leaving the funeral I held by myself.  I cried but knew I had to stay strong. I was walking down the road wiping my eyes.  I stopped nearby to check if I had packed the necessities from my old apartment.  I took off my backpack and saw I didn't miss anything.  I then thought about getting a job.  I was thinking when I noticed a huge building with a sign saying.  {Pay $150 per month!}  I started at the sign before going inside.  The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how the environment felt.  It was like entering a new world. I went up to the registration office and got my room key.  The writing was in cursive.  And I suck at reading cursive.  I got my room key and started to make my way to the elevator. I was scared since I had never actually gone on an elevator.  I went in and got out, that feeling was amazing.  I saw my room number at the end of the hall.  I ran to the end and opened my door.  The inside was amazing.  It was nothing like our old apartment, which had falling cement from the ceiling, dust everywhere and looked like a trashed area, but at that time it was all we could afford.  I immediately launched myself on the bed.
