"Raven!" Maddie exclaimed, hugging the girl. "It's just hat-tastic that you're here! And look who I brought along!" She pushed Mara forward.
"Um, hi?" Raven waved at Mara awkwardly.
"Just Ever After High's one and only transfer student!" Maddie giggled.
"Oh! You're the new girl?" Raven's eyes widened in recognition.
"Yep, that's me."
"I'm Raven Queen, nice to meet you." She smiled.
"I'm Mara Sabbath. And Queen? As in the Evil Queen?" Mara asked.
"Yeah..." Raven grimaced, "I promise it's not as bad as it sounds. I just get a bad reputation because of who my mom is."
"I know the feeling." Mara rolled her eyes.
"Really? Who's your fairytale parent?" Raven asked.
"Hecate." Mara said, "The goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, the moon, ghosts, and necromancy. I've kind of got my hands full." She laughed.
"Good to know I'm not the only one." Raven grumbled.
