Pandora's Misery
Pandora's emotions,
Put in a box,
When it is opened,
What might you find?
Anger
That burns and destroys,
Fury untouchable,
Burning outside.
Hate
That lies and ruins,
Unreasonably mad,
Flowing outside.
Fear
That takes and consumes,
Terror unreachable,
Struggling outside.
Despair
When lost and alone,
Struggles unbearable,
Growing outside.
Greed
That finds and exploits,
Twists thoughts unkindly,
Thirsting outside.
Mistrust
That gnaws and devours,
Sense so irrational,
Creeping outside.
Hope
That rebuilds,
So often neglected,
Found inside.
Last in the box,
The thing that can save us,
Should not be lost.
