We are fish before the waterfall,
We are insects inside a cage.
Our own presence reminds us of the rapids,
We stand in the wind and break.
Our strength rises with the sun,
Then is swallowed by the night.
We are everything strange on the planet,
We have the most natural existence.
We are the fire it's self as it burns,
And we are the crying and shouts of joyful and scared children.
Ah, we have been poisoned by the moonlight.

Hi :) thanks for reading.
Ok, you're probably not too sure what's going on with the last line(sometimes I'm not either), but it does make sense when you think about it. This was the second poem I wrote for the competition, and is a bit creepy at times :\ but at the end of a long section on war and refugees in RME (religious and moral education) we watched "Hotel Rwanda", which is s set in 1994 during the Rwandan Genocide, in which an estimated 800,000 people, mainly Tutsi, were killed by Hutu extremists. It's a really good film, and the terror and suspence. But its so sad and shocking as it is something that genually happened.
And, well, this poem kind of reflects on the film.
Thanks again for reading,
