Chapter 23

"Don't run to fast you might fall!"

"Trust me I won't!" Hunter yelled jogging downstairs.

What am I going to do with this man. Running downstairs like a five year old hearing that there's pancakes for breakfast and not just cereal.

I was done brushing my teeth and washing my face so I walked downstairs to find Hunter and Keith eating their hearts out with Rose's breakfast.

"Rosie have I told you I enjoy your breakfast?"

"Yes Keith, you've made that very clear through out our years growing up. Oh Amber I'll need you to come with me to do some shopping later this afternoon okay. " I nodded in response.

We never hung out much and never had the time to do so, with Rose busy with her studies and me taking care of Hunter. Just to ensure that he doesn't hurt himself.

I never seem to understand him, how is he so clumsy yet very skilled with dangerous things like guns or knives, and other sharp objects. He's truly something else, changed over the past seven years sure, but more secretly similar to his father. Kind yet merciless and cruel. The only people he wouldn't hurt is his sister and parents. He cares but hides it and it's only those subtle signs of affection is what he gives to his loved ones.

"Amber." I snapped out of my thoughts just to see all three of them curiously looking at me. "What has you in your head so deep?" Keith asked. "Oh, it's nothing important. " I said awkwardly with a chuckle at the end.

"Didn't seem like nothing. " Hunter added as if provoking me to tell him.

"No no it's nothing serious. Just a random thought. Random thought. " I said burning my focus to my breakfast wanting to end the topic.

"If you say so." Hunter said but I'm pretty sure he'll be pressuring me to tell him by the end of the day. He doesn't really let things go without answers.

Later on that day...

"Amber come on we're not done yet." Rose said with excitement, almost like a young girl not wanting her adventure in Disneyland to end. It amuses how she goes from serious to a kid like behavior.

I readily followed her with a lot of handbags between me and the guards behind us. The girl still likes to shop like it's Black Friday. What makes me laugh is that she is still indecisive with what she wants to get.

"Amber are you coming or are you just gonna wait outside?"

"I'm coming. I'm coming."

"Miss, you should give us the bags in your hands." One of the body guards said, I think he didn't want me to have too many things on hand.

"No I'm okay, I don't want to make your job harder for you." I really didn't want to but he was addement that they'll be fine and that it's part of their job to do so. I had to agree because Rose would chew me up if I didn't follow her like I said.

I walked inside the boutique and it looked expensive. Not that I can't afford it, I worked hard. It's just that it looked classy, unique and not that known, event though it started a long time ago, it seems only the wealthy knew about it.

It's interior was a mix of Roman, Italian, colored with black and gold with dark blue sofa's for people to sit on and wait to see the fitted clothes, while the clothes themselves looked breathtaking.

The jackets made of organic fabrics, the shoes fit for comfort in every season, the dresses made to flow in the warm winds of summer, the hats warm and some free for the wind to blow and relive your head. What I loved was all the jewelry. It looked as if it was made for royalty.

The workers really seem to enjoy their job, all of them had honest and happy smiles on their faces. But that's if the manager here is nice to them. The only thing that could possibly spoil their mood today is if a Karen comes up and starts a fuss.

And at that thought I turned my head to see what was all the noise about.

"I don't want this horrendous outfit. Go, get me something more elegant and more fitting!"

Well, speak of the devil and she shall appear. A Karen.

"Ma'am your the one who chose this outfit. " The worker there announced calmly, not raising his voice.

"I want to see the manager!" The Karen said.

"Ma'am our manager is very busy at the moment. I'm sure we can reach an agreement." The employee tried to negotiate with her.

"I want to see your manager!"

Slap her, or get the manager then have them give that Karen a piece of their mind. That was my thought when I saw this occur.

The employee walked to the manager's office and about a minute later the manager came out following the employee towards the fuming Karen.

"I will not tolerate such unruly treatment from this lowlife." Karen said pointing towards the employee.

"Ma'am, what could be upsetting you?" The manager asked her.

"What is upsetting me?! You dare ask me that obvious question!? This so-called ' employee ' of yours brought me a small sized dress now look it's ripped!" She showed the manager the ripped part of the dress.

I really don't understand this woman she could see herself that she's not that slim nor can she fit in that dress. The employee can see that too, she must have taken the dress and not listened to the employee and forced herself into that dress causing it to rip.

"Will, is that true?" The manager asked the employee.

"No sir, I told her she has the wrong size and tried to convince her to get the same dress but just her fitting size but she insisted that she can still fit in it. " The employee explained.

"Okay now I want you to ask another employee to check the camera footage and have them report back to me, okay." The employee nodded in response to the managers words.

What was funny was that you can see the Karen try to hide her fear. She played with her fingers and kept quiet the few minutes the employees where looking at the CCTV footage.

The employees came back and showed the manager the footage. He looked at the Karen with a calm yet slightly angry deminor.

"Ma'am, due to the evidence shown to me, you are liable and responsible to pay for the damages you caused, if not then I would want you to formerly apologize to my employee and never return to the store ever again." He said in a serious and demanding tone, expressing his disapproval towards the woman's behavior.

"Isn't it that the customer is always right? And what kind of injustice is this. My husband is the owner and CEO of the West Indiana Market. I can have him destroy you."

"Ma'am it's not about who has the most influence it's about who you did wrong to. Now I am not afraid of such small threats, I've had bigger and more life threatening threats, so ma'am if you don't want to apologize to my employee I'm going to have to ask you to leave."

Well he showed her who's boss. They eventually had to escort her out the shop when she didn't comply. And that left me to continue my shopping spree with Rose who was next to me when all that happened.

"Rose what are we possibly going to get here? We have everything you needed outside with the guards." I asked her making my own plan to get something nice for Hunter. For once.

"Oh relax. I just wanna get you two something." She said and looked back at me.

" 'You two' ?"

"Yeah you and Hunter. Just something small. "

Well this won't be good.
