The last day of spring

Spring

    It was a cool day, unlike yesterday where the scorching sun could be felt even inside. I intentionally left the window open today, because i liked the way Satoru's hair fluttered in the light wind. A small petal landed on his head, the pink offering a soft contrast to his white hair. It was when i went to brush it off that i noticed, even in his sleep, Satoru has his infinity off around me.

    "Suguruuu" i felt a heavy arm find itself around my shoulder, i couldn't help but smile silently as he spoke, I had forgot where i was going before he got here, whatever, it didn't matter. "Today i thought we'd go and check out that new bakery downtown, whaddya' say?" The smile on his face tells me he probably won't leave me alone until i say yes. "Sure" i offer a soft compliance.

    "mmmm, i dunno, maybe the strawberry banana?" I watched him order his ice cream, i could see the frustration on his face as he scrunched his nose, trying to choose between strawberry banana or mango. "How about you get strawberry banana, and I get the mango ice cream?" I ask, taking a step closer to the glass so i can order. I got a grin and two thumbs up in response. I couldn't help but chuckle again. "I'll take the mango ice cream auntie" i say the older looking woman behind the glass standing alert when i spoke "and he'll take the strawberry banana, in a cone, but could we also have a throw away cup if possible?" She nods, and what i assume are her employees start fixing up our cones, we pay and find our way to a park. "Satoru." I practically purr and i wonder if he notices. "do you think our next mission will be inside or outside of Tokyo?" I say going back to silently licking at my cone, he hums for a moment but answers "Mm, you didn't hear?" he pauses to take a bite out of his ice cream, and i internally cringe. "i heard Yaga talking about us going on more separate missions. 'Parently we'd accomplish more on our own" he shrugs "but to be honest, i'd rather we go together." He looks over to me "as long as you're there with me, i feel better." and with that, he turned right back around and kept walking. I knew i was overthinking it, i already knew that there was no way in hell he put that much thought into that sentence, he had just spouted nonsense like he usually did, with no thought behind it.
    The walk home was silent, i didn't have anything to say, and it seemed like Satoru had picked up on it. These days Satoru had been really taking off in his studies, not just academically, but with his cursed technique. It had scared me, what if he took off, and it wasn't us who were the strongest but just him? Thoughts like these would find me when i was with Satoru or without him, in my silence, or in my roaring laughter, even when i was with both shoko and Satoru. No matter the time or day they couldn't be chased out. "Suguru...suguruu"my gaze snaps up to meet his eyes, his soft blue eyes. "Yes?" I stare, longer than i should. "You keep spacing outtt, I'm going to die of boredom if you don't start talking soon" he whines. "I'm not spacing out, I'm just enjoying my ice cream" i say more defensively  than i meant to "and you should too" i look over to him and cock an eyebrow "you barely touched it." I sigh sarcastically "I'm never going to buy you anything ever again if you don't finish the cone"  i over exaggerate my words "shut up" he laughs and smacks my shoulder "I'm being serious, I'll never go out with you again, and I'll only take out shoko" i smile at my own lie "sureeee you would." He rolls his eyes.

        This chapter was boringgg, literally a snooze fest, ngl it gets better.
