It was the day that we were going to escape. The door at the front of the cage was still locked, but any minute now, Teddy would come bursting in here with the rest of the prisoners.
Time was slowly wasting and I hoped he would come soon. I didn't want to get caught.
I heard nails clicking on the hard stone floor and suddenly Yip-Yap was here.
"Hullo! I heard you got in trouble for escaping! I hope you appreciate us coming to help!" She yipped.

"Shhhh, quiet! We're trying to escape, not go into a worse prison!" A familiar voice whispered.
Then a sharp faced dog appeared around the corner.

"Hello, Horus." I purred. "We're leaving. Aren't you excited? After four years..."

"Oh, yes I am. I can hardly keep my tail still!" He barked.

Teddy came around the corner next, herding the rest of the puppies.
And on his back was someone I hadn't seen in a while...
Oh, it was Rush!

"Rush!" I cried. "Why did you leave? I've been getting kidnapped all over the place you know, I thought you were dead-"

He cut me off with a glare. "He's dead."

"Who's dead?" I questioned.

"The tomcat... The one in the same field as you..."

"You didn't know that?" I mewed, somewhat stunned. "He got killed by the snake cat..."

"I'm worthless. I wasn't there to save him..."

"Listen, it's fine. It's not your fault the snake cat did that. Don't kill yourself over it."

Rush looked down at his paws, seeming embarrassed and then mewed, "I didn't know you were stuck here too."

"Nobody knows who's here and who's not." I growled. "If it's evils doing, it's no good. Come on. We have to escape."
