We get back to Bobby's from the hospital a few hours later and Dean doesn't say another word as he gets out and walks out to the workshop.

"He just needs time." Sam says as I watch Dean walk away.

We get into the house and find it empty.

"Is Bobby still working on the Lovecraft case?" I ask Sam as we walk upstairs.

"Yeah, he said that he's not sure when he'll be back, but he's making good progress."

"Alright, welp, I'm going to go take a much needed shower. Let me know when I get out if you hear anything from him." I say, before opening the door to my room.

"Alright, sounds good. See you in a bit." Sam says walking into his bedroom.

I move the book that Crowley gave me from my desk to my bed and replace it with my duffel bag because I don't feel like unpacking it right now before grabbing my shower stuff and a change of clothes and heading to the bathroom.

                                  ****

After I'm finished with my exhausting shower, I walk back to my room to put my stuff away. But as soon as I open the door, I freeze as adrenaline floods through my veins.

My book is gone.

So is my crossroads box.

    Oh crap.

I put my stuff on the floor before walking downstairs and into the library where I see my box, my book, and the bowl that still has remnants of the spell ingredients in it sitting on the coffee table in front of Sam who's sitting on the couch, looking very disappointed.

Dammit. I was so distracted by the book that I forgot to take care of the bowl.

"I see you've had an eventful few days." Dean's voice makes me jump and I look to my left and see Dean sitting at the desk that faces the kitchen, with his foot resting on it as he takes a drink of whiskey.

I say nothing as he stares at me, looking absolutely enraged.

"You left your phone in the car. When I went to put it on your bed, I found this book wide open right next to a box that's filled with everything you need to summon a crossroads demon. Care to explain?" His voice is calm, and deadly.

It reminds me of how he spoke to Crowley when he found out he had taken Lisa and Ben.

    Well, that's reassuring.

"Nope." I say simply, popping the P.

Dean chuckles and nods before standing up.

"You see, I have read every single book that Bobby owns at least twice. And that," he points at the book and steps closer to me. "is not one of them. And before we left with Balthazar yesterday, I was down in the basement and I found the bowl surrounded by the ingredients to summon a very powerful demon into a devil's trap. When I called Bobby, he said it wasn't him."

I stay silent as Dean begins to pace in front of me.

"We just want to know what hap-" Sam starts but Dean cuts him off and steps even closer.

And even though Dean is only two inches taller, at this moment, he seems to tower over me.

"So you know what I think? I think when we weren't focused on you, when you didn't have attention for one day, you decided to take things into your own hands. I think you summoned a crossroads demon, and when that didn't work, you summoned Crowley and made a deal with him for the damn book!"
