THIRD PERSON'S POV
The next day dawned with a heaviness that matched the storm clouds looming overhead. Hanni decided to take a walk in the park near their mansion, hoping the serene surroundings would help clear her mind after the emotional turmoil of the previous night.
As she strolled along the winding paths, lost in her thoughts, Hanni froze in her tracks when she spotted a familiar figure sitting on a bench under a sprawling oak tree. It was Jay, her ex-boyfriend. He looked up from his phone and caught sight of her, a surprised expression crossing his face.
"Hanni?" Jay called out, his voice carrying across the quiet park.
Hanni’s heart raced as she debated whether to approach him or turn and walk away. A part of her wanted to avoid any further complications, but another part yearned to confront the unresolved feelings and questions swirling inside her.
With a deep breath, Hanni walked over to where Jay was sitting. His expression was unreadable as she stood before him, unsure of what to say.
"Jay," she finally spoke, her voice hesitant.
"Hey," Jay replied, his tone guarded. "I didn’t expect to see you here."
Hanni shifted uncomfortably, her eyes darting away from his intense gaze. "I needed some fresh air. After everything..."
Jay nodded slowly, his gaze searching hers. "I understand."
Silence hung heavy between them for a moment, the weight of their shared history and unspoken emotions palpable in the air.
Meanwhile, Minji was driving home from a morning meeting, her mind still clouded with thoughts of Hanni and the strained atmosphere between them. As she approached the park near their mansion, her eyes caught sight of a familiar figure—Hanni, standing near a bench where a man sat.
Her heart skipped a beat as recognition dawned on her. It was Jay. Minji’s grip on the steering wheel tightened involuntarily as she slowed down, her eyes trained on the scene unfolding before her.
Hanni and Jay seemed deep in conversation, their body language tense yet tinged with a hint of familiarity. Minji’s mind raced with questions, her thoughts swirling with uncertainty and a pang of jealousy she couldn’t quite suppress.
She watched as Jay leaned closer to Hanni, his expression earnest yet guarded. Hanni’s responses were cautious, her eyes flickering with a mix of emotions Minji couldn’t decipher from afar. A surge of protectiveness washed over Minji, an instinctive urge to shield Hanni from any potential harm.
But as she continued to observe them, a knot of unease tightened in Minji’s stomach. Jay had always been ambitious, driven by his own desires. The thought of him re-entering Hanni’s life sent a chill down Minji’s spine. She couldn’t shake the feeling that his reappearance was no coincidence—that he had an agenda, a motive that threatened to disrupt the fragile balance they had struggled to maintain.
A mix of emotions swirled within Minji—fear, jealousy, and a growing sense of urgency. She knew she had to confront Hanni about Jay, to understand the depth of their connection and whether it posed a threat to their already strained relationship.
With a heavy heart, Minji pressed on the accelerator and drove past the park, her mind racing with thoughts of how to approach the delicate situation. She needed answers, but she also feared what she might uncover.
Back in the park, Hanni and Jay continued their conversation, the tension between them palpable. Hanni couldn’t shake the feeling that Jay’s presence was stirring up old wounds, reopening a chapter of her life she had tried to move past.
