4 Things (Oilrose Fanfic)

Chapter 7: Comfort

J lands near a warehouse and gets in. She walks past the many shelves and objects, before stopping in front of a wall and sits against it. Digital tears slowly running down her visor as she hugged her legs, letting herself sob. Meanwhile, V had arrived to the place where she assumed J was, and peeked her head in the abandoned warehouse, looking around before walking in and explored around. It didn't take long till she heard a little bit of crying. The sounds got her attention and she followed it before finding a weeping drone.

"J..?" She said softly. Her voice surprised J a bit, then looking at her after she recognized the voice. "H-hey V.." J greeted, as she wiped her tears, or at least made the gesture, since they're literally just LED displays on a visor. V sat down next to her, and thought about what she's gonna say.

"You 'kay?" She asked. She already knew the answer, she wasn't even sure why she asked it other than to spark a conversation.

"Y-yeah..." The other drone answered, looking away to hide her face. "Y'know I know that's not true.." V said. She thought for a few moments, before continuing.

"Hey." She tried to get her attention, watching J lift her head up a bit to look at her. She offered her arm, signaling a hug. J paused a bit before scooting closer, letting V wrap her arm around her, allowing herself be vurnarable. Which made the other smile a little, as she slowly swayed her tail from left to right.

They stayed silent for a while, with J getting more comfortable, before V spoke up.
"Have I ever told you this?" J hummed in curiosity, wondering what she was going to say. "Hm? What is it?" She questioned.

"That I like you." V responded, with a small grin plastered on her face. J blushed a bit at the statement, and V clearly noticed that.

"Wha- Uh- R-really..?"
"Duh." She chuckled. "And that I want to spend my life with you, I'm literally honored and glad to be living in the same universe as you, since the very day we met, I was mesmerized by you."
She muttered, realizing that it was maybe a bit extra, but she went on.
"Serial Designation J" She paused to inhale for dramatic effect "I love you."

The short monologue made J blush a lot more, all she could think about is if she was being genuine or just messing with her, she was really hoping on the former. She looked at V for a while before glancing away, before mumbling something in response.
"I-I love.. you too.."
Her answer made V blush a bit as well before gently pulling her by the underside of her head to make her look at her.

Their eyes were looking at each other, the tension building up second by second before they moved their mouths closer, leading them to kiss.

After a few seconds, they broke the kiss, staring affectionately at each other with noticable smiles and blushes on their faces. J then hugged V, with V returning it.
"I.. don't think I have told you this but..." J said. "Thanks for.. like.. being there for me.." She then rested her head against V's head.

V chuckled at her statement. "I thought I was supposed to say that.."

J had a small smile on her, before getting up with V doing the same shortly after and walking out.
