Amari wakes up, wearing his shirt. The very air seems to thin at the sight of her.

He feels it—the butterflies, the sparks...

All over again, the bodily reaction of a teen boy.

It's not in his control, the response his body has to her, because of her.

*Thump*

Heat rushes up his neck, goosebumps cascading down his spine. Time feels suspended, yet his heart races.

He freezes, caught in her soft gaze.

Fu-

"Amari," he whispers.

Amari,
Amari,
Amari.

Ari,
His Ari,
His Amari.

He was captivated.

He was obsessed.

'How did he manage to evade her for this long?' he wondered, utterly captivated by her presence. She was amazing—no, she was more than that.

She was Amari,
Ari,
His Ari.

"Good morning, Kenji," she greeted him with a smile, walking over to plant a gentle kiss on his cheek. Her touch left a lingering warmth on his skin, sending a wave of electricity coursing through him.

He marveled at how she could remain so composed, even as she had such a profound effect on him. Her hand rested lightly on his chest, and he could feel his heart racing faster in response to her touch.
She knew....oh she knew well the power she held over him, and he was completely helpless to resist it.

Gently, he wrapped his hand over hers, savoring the connection between them as he closed his eyes. Ken wasn't adept at suppressing his emotions, especially when they concerned her. His thumb softly stroking her skin.

A part of him knew it all felt too good to be true, like some dream. If that was the truth, he sure hoped it would last a while longer.

"Good morning, Angel" He whispered.

One kiss and it felt great.

"Your first game is tonight, how do you feel?" she asks gently.

His mind a whirlwind of thoughts that had little to do with baseball. He had never felt more distracted. The weight of his upcoming game was overshadowed by the weight of his emotions for Amari.

“I’ve been thinking a lot,” Ken began, his voice barely above a whisper.

“About what?”

He looked at her, searching for something in her gaze.
"You"

That morning, he just wanted to enjoy the blissful moment with her. Existing as if this was his sole reality, as Ken Sato, nothing more. In that moment he was just Sae with her.

He lets the bat slide from this grip, to properly hold her in his arms.

"When are you never?" she teases.

"bold of you to assume I think of you that much" He playfully teased

"Are you saying I'm wrong?" she raises her brow

Ken chuckled, a warm smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "You might be onto something there," he admitted, his tone light but sincere.

Their playful bantor continues.

"Well, Mr. Ken Sato," she said with a mischievous grin, "you better keep your focus during the game, Ken. Can’t have you daydreaming about me when you should be hitting home runs."

He laughed, a genuine sound that echoed in the quiet morning. "Oh, trust me, you’re always in my head. But I promise to give the game my best shot."

He replied, smirking as he tightened his arms around her. "Just knowing you’ll be there is enough to make me play my best."

She laughed softly, the sound like music to his ears. "You know I’ll always be there for you, Ken."

The warmth of the moment made him almost forget the turmoil inside him. But as he held her close, he couldn’t ignore the thoughts that kept swirling in his mind. He knew he had to talk to her about more than just baseball...but for now.

This was perfect.

"Jump," he whispered the instruction. She complied in a heartbeat. His hands massaged their way down her spine and lower...

She kissed his neck, her hands combing through his hair in silent encouragement of his touch. Her fingers gently tugged his hair, causing him to lean away, allowing her more access to him.

"Oh, Ari. The things you do to me," Ken groaned. Delight flickered in his eyes as he allowed the overwhelming feelings she stirred in him to consume him.
