Nell

My heart pounded as I stood there in my black prom dress. I look back in the mirror at myself as I run my hands down my dress attempting to get rid of any imperfections. 

"Nell!" I hear my mum call from downstairs. I take a deep breath knowing that her calling meant one thing. She was here.

Fuck I was so nervous. 

I call down letting her know I was coming down. I take one more deep breath before I open my door and begin the walk down the stairs. I held the bannister to stable myself, I wasn't the best in heels, but then again hardly ever wore them. 

My feet hit the bottom of the step as I look up and my eyes connect with Leah. I can't help but beam at her as she stands there in her suit. Leah and I had been together for three years.  Here I stand on my room night, Leah had taken time off of her training to take me to prom. 

Leah didnt go to school anymore, she was focusing on her dream of becoming a professional footballer. If Leah was good at anything, it was still remembering to put me first, I still woke up every morning to a good morning message. 

"Fuck you look beautiful" she says as her eyes connect with mine. 

"Language Leah!" my mum warns her, and I can't help but giggle as I watch her lower her head scared of my mum. 

"Sorry Ma'am"

I walk over to Leah, her hand taking mine as she spins me around taking a look at me. I felt so happy with Leah, she was my best friend in the entire world and I was so proud of her, she was perfect for me. 

All I ever wanted and more. 

We walk out of my house and outside to the car Leah had hired for us both. She was a year older than me so she could drive. She was currently at the Arsenal academy, and I knew soon enough she would get her dream. 

"You're so beautiful Nell" Leah leans across to the passenger side to press a kiss to my cheek. 

"Dont make me cringe" I giggle as I lean across and crash my lips onto hers for a second. 

Three years and we hadn't slept together, I had wanted to the entire time but I also wanted the moment to be special. I feel like tonight had the chance to be that moment, I was ready for her to be mine. 

"Anything for you Nell" she giggles before starting the car up.

The entire prom was what I expected it would b like. Leah and I danced together all night long in each others arms. Leah had gotten alcohol from somewhere, I wasn't really sure where but we now sat on a swing set in a park not too far away from my house.

We passed the bottle of champagne between us both. 

"Soon you'll be spraying these bottles" I giggle as I lean my head against the chain of the swing I sat on. I looked over at Leah but she seemed different all of a sudden, it was like she had something on her mind. 

Something overtaking all of her thoughts towards me. 

"Whats on your mind?" I ask as I swing myself a little back and forth. Leah places the bottle down before looking at me. 

I plant my feet on the ground to stop myself from moving, the look on her face wasn't a good one and In this moment I felt my heart pound. There was something going on here and I didnt see it ending well, fuck I didnt see it ending well at all.
