The room was dark, the morning light just beginning to peek through the curtains when the piercing sound of my phone ringing jolted me from sleep. Groaning, I fumbled for the device on my nightstand, squinting at the screen.
"What?" I grumbled, my voice still thick with sleep.
"Wake the fuck up! I'm coming to pick you up in 10 minutes. You better get your ass up and ready!" Bakugou's voice barked through the phone, filled with urgency.
I sighed, rubbing my eyes. "Alright, alright. I'm up," I muttered, hanging up and dragging myself out of bed.
I quickly got dressed, pulling on a comfortable outfit that still looked presentable. By the time I made it downstairs, Bakugou was already waiting outside, his breath visible in the cool morning air. I hurried out the door, clutching my bag.
"Good morning," he greeted me, a rare, soft smile tugging at his lips. Despite his harsh wake-up call, I could see the concern in his eyes.
"Morning," I mumbled, feeling a bit more awake as I fell into step beside him.
We walked briskly through the quiet streets, the morning air crisp and fresh. When we arrived at his house, he led me inside and straight to the kitchen. His parents already left for work.
"Sit," he ordered, pointing to a stool at the counter. "I've got breakfast."
I watched as he moved around the kitchen with practiced ease, whipping up a healthy meal. Soon, he set a plate in front of me – a fluffy omelette, whole grain toast, and a side of fresh fruit.
"Eat up. You need energy for the exam," he said, sitting down across from me with his own plate.
As we ate, he pulled out some flashcards, quizzing me on key concepts. I felt a warmth spread through me at his dedication to my success.
"What's the formula for calculating velocity?" he asked, popping a piece of toast into his mouth.
"Velocity equals distance divided by time," I replied, trying to focus despite the fluttering in my stomach.
"Good. And Newton's first law?"
"An object in motion stays in motion, and an object at rest stays at rest unless acted upon by an outside force," I recited, smiling when he nodded in approval.
Once we finished breakfast, Bakugou walked me to school, his hand wrapped protectively around mine. The campus was already buzzing with students, all anxiously preparing for their exams.
As we neared my exam room, Bakugou stopped and turned to face me, his eyes serious. "You're going to do amazing, Marinette," he said, his voice low and earnest. He leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to my forehead. "Just remember everything we've gone over. You've got this."
My heart swelled with affection. "Thank you, Senpai," I whispered, standing on my tiptoes to plant a quick kiss on his lips.
He smirked, giving my hand one last squeeze before heading to his own exam room. "See you after, baby. Good luck."
"You too!" I called after him, feeling a surge of confidence as I entered the classroom.
The exam was challenging, but I felt prepared. Bakugou's constant support and our rigorous study sessions paid off. I could almost hear his voice in my head, guiding me through each question.
When the exam finally ended, I walked out of the room with a satisfied smile. Bakugou was waiting for me in the hallway, leaning casually against the wall.
"How'd it go?" he asked, straightening up as I approached.
"I think it went well," I said, beaming up at him.
