Today was my court hearing. I was frozen, feeling just...empty. My Bakugou... I would never be able to see him again.
The officers guided me to the courtroom. There were news reporters, families of the girls I killed, and... Bakugou!? My eyes widened, seeing him sitting there. He had a sad frown, and his hands were shaking. I pouted and tried wiping my eyes with my shoulders since my wrists were cuffed together. I sat down, and the court started.
The judge explained everything bad I did. The families got to yell at me and tell me how terrible I was. My OWN parents were disappointed with me. Even Bakugou's parents came. They said they were happy to know someone was there for their son... but killing is not right.
"The first family, the parents of Emily, will now speak."
The mother, eyes red from crying, glared at me. "You took our daughter away from us! She was just starting her life, and you ended it. Why? Why did you do it?"
"We'll never forgive you," the father added, his voice filled with rage. "You destroyed our family. We hope you rot in prison."
Next, the parents of Sarah spoke. The father's voice was filled with anger. "You have no idea what you've done. Sarah was everything to us. She had dreams, a future. And you took it all away."
"Every day we wake up, and the first thing we feel is pain. Because of you. You deserve to suffer for what you've done," Sarah's mother said, her voice trembling with grief.
My own parents were next. My mother couldn't even look at me. Her voice was shaky, filled with disappointment. "How could you? How could our sweet daughter do something so monstrous?"
"We raised you better than this. We can't even recognize you anymore. You've brought shame to our family," my father added, his voice breaking.
Even Bakugou's parents came. His mother spoke first. "We saw how happy you made Katsuki. But you crossed a line that should never be crossed. We're deeply disappointed in you," his father said, shaking his head.
Next was Bakugou. The judge allowed him to speak, and he walked up to the stand, his face a mask of pain and confusion.
"Marinette," he began, his voice trembling but resolute. "You were my light in the darkness. You showed me how to love, how to care, and how to be a better person. Every moment with you was a blessing. You made me smile, you made me laugh, and you made me feel alive. I love you, Marinette, and I always will. There's no one else in this world who could ever replace you."
I broke down, sobbing uncontrollably. The entire courtroom felt the weight of his words. Tears streamed down the faces of everyone present. It felt like a funeral, a final farewell to the love we shared.
The judge declared my life sentence to a prison for troubled teenagers. A place filled with others who had committed terrible acts. For life. Bakugou clenched his fists hearing that and shook. His mom rubbed his arm, trying to comfort him.
I stood up and looked down, declaring my apologies. "I'm sorry," I began, my voice breaking. "I'm sorry to all the families, to my parents, and Bakugou. I'm sorry for not loving you the correct way."
"Marinette, I forgive you. I always will," he said, his voice filled with sorrow and unwavering love.
The officers began to escort me out, and I couldn't take my eyes off Bakugou. The reality of my actions and their consequences hit me like a tidal wave. I had lost everything - my freedom, my future, and the love of my life.
As I was led away, I turned back one last time to see Bakugou. "I love you, Bakugou. Forever," I said, my voice cracking.
"And I love you, Marinette. Forever," he replied, his voice filled with sorrow and unwavering love.
The doors closed behind me, sealing my fate. The memories of our time together played in my mind like a bittersweet montage. Our laughter, our kisses, our shared dreams. All of it is now tainted by the darkness of my actions.
Bakugou's POV:
The door closed, and Marinette was gone. This was the last time I saw her. I wanted to hug her, to tell her one last time how much I loved her. The weight of it all hit me like a ton of bricks. I couldn't breathe.
I ran, pushing past all the guards. "Katsuki Bakugou!" my mother yelled, but I ignored her. My heart pounded in my chest, and I felt like I was suffocating. I had to see her, one last time. I pushed open the doors and ran down the hall, desperately looking for her.
(Make sure the music is at 3:30 here)
"Marinette!" I yelled. The guards were holding her, walking away. They blocked her from me, but she pushed them away. I ran to her and hugged her so tightly, not caring about anything else in the world.
She hugged me back with all her strength, despite the cuffs around her wrists. "I love you! So fucking much!" I sobbed into her shoulder, my tears soaking through her shirt.
"I love you too, Bakugou Senpai! I love you!" she cried, her voice breaking. We both fell to the ground, sobbing and hugging each other like it was the last time we would ever feel each other's warmth.
The guards just let us be but kept a close eye. It felt like time had stopped, and all that existed was the two of us, clinging to each other in the middle of that cold, sterile hallway.
"I'm sorry, Marinette," I whispered, my voice choked with emotion. "I'm so fucking sorry."
"It's not your fault," she replied, her tears mixing with mine. "I did this. But I love you, Katsuki. I always will."
"I don't know how to live without you," I admitted, my heart breaking with every word.
"You have to," she said her voice barely a whisper. "You have to be strong. For me. Promise me you'll live your life, Katsuki."
"I promise," I said, though it felt like a lie. How could I live without her? How could I go on knowing she was locked away, knowing I'd never see her smile or hear her laugh again?
The guards finally stepped in, gently pulling us apart. "Time's up," one of them said, his voice gruff but not unkind.
"I love you," I whispered one last time, my voice breaking.
"I love you too," she replied, her eyes filled with tears.
And then she was gone, taken away from me. The emptiness that filled me was overwhelming. I stumbled back, feeling like my heart had been ripped from my chest. My mother was there, wrapping her arms around me, but it did nothing to ease the pain.
The world felt colder, darker without Marinette. But I had to keep my promise. I had to live my life, for her. Even if it felt impossible, even if it hurt more than anything I had ever felt before, I had to try. For her.
