Hey, everyone who liked this book! I got rid of one of the chapters so I'm finally updating with another one. Since I'm not too far away from finishing Southern Belle I'll finally be able to work on this one. Tell me if y'all wish for me to continue this book and I'll see what I can do.

Beyoncé and Kelly stayed together as the party went on; they stayed by each other's side and talked the whole night away. Eventually, the night came to an end, and the two women had to separate; they exchanged numbers and went their separate ways. Letoya drove Kelly and Michelle home; she had been forced to listen to Kelly talk about Beyoncé while her wife slept peacefully in the passenger's seat.
By the time the women got back home Michelle was still sleeping and Kelly was still talking. It was then Letoya contemplated leaving both women in the car. She figured she would get them the next morning; she hoped Kelly would be quiet by then. Still, Letoya carried her wife into the house and restrained herself from locking Kelly out of the house, a decision she immediately regretted as the night went on.
Letoya woke up with a slight headache, the daylight creeping through the window only making the pain worse. She rolled out of bed and stretched. With her feet firmly planted on the floor and her eyes barely open, Letoya stumbled to the blinds and closed them.
She then looked at the digital clock on her nightstand, the time being 7 am. She looked back at her bed to find her wife Michelle still in bed sleeping, the beautiful sight almost making her smile. Unfortunately, she lost the urge to smile when she noticed the glasses still on the woman's face. Letoya groaned and carefully took the glasses off her wife's face, placing them on the nightstand beside her. She made sure it was within the woman's reach, so she didn't have to struggle with grabbing them when she woke up.
Letoya then made her way downstairs to make breakfast, something she didn't normally do unless her wife was still sleeping. If Letoya woke up before Michelle, she would never wake her wife up from her sleep just so she could make her breakfast. That would just be selfish, especially since she was more than capable of cooking for herself.
Once downstairs, Letoya got to work on making breakfast, surprisingly she was done within fifteen minutes. Luckily, the smell of the food woke her wife up, so she didn't have to; she hated having to wake the woman up. She listened to her wife's footsteps as she walked down the stairs and entered the kitchen. She didn't even bother turning around, she just smiled at the feeling of her wife's presence.
"Good morning Michelle, good to see you up. I'm surprised to see you up this early, especially since your mind doesn't start up until ten o'clock," Letoya jokes, handing her a wife's plate of food.
Michelle, who was still half asleep, stared at the plate of food for a few seconds before digging in. After a few bites of food, she was finally awake enough to speak. By that time Letoya had joined her wife at the table and began eating.
"Good morning to you too, babe. The food is good, thanks for making breakfast even though you didn't have to," Michelle said, causing Letoya to frown.
"What did I say about that? I'm not going to wake you up just to cook for me when you barely even got three hours of sleep last night. Hell, it was probably less than that due to Kelly's ass wanting to stay on the phone with Beyoncé all night."
Michelle didn't respond to her wife; she just shrugged her shoulders and continued eating. Just like her wife, Michelle was wide awake when Kelly decided to have a three-hour-long conversation, the person's loud voice was the main thing that kept the couple from sleeping. Michelle had to physically restrain her wife from going to Kelly's room and cursing the person out.
Eventually, Letoya managed to go back to sleep and Michelle stayed up. While she was struggling to get back to sleep, she could hear Kelly's conversation with Beyoncé. Due to it being at night, she couldn't focus much on what was being said; however, she did hear a lot of giggling and reminiscing. Some memories Michelle knew of and some she didn't know. After a while, she got invested in the stories and planned on listening to them all night but unfortunately, she fell asleep before she could finish hearing them all.
"Well, I was happy to hear that they're building their relationship back up. They seemed very happy just to speak to each other," Michelle said, causing her wife to roll her eyes.
"Man, they could have been happy talking to each other earlier in the day. They fucked up my rest being gay and shit."
Michelle stared at Letoya blankly, her wife shrugging as she found nothing wrong with what she said. Michelle rolled her eyes and stood up before grabbing the empty plates, taking them to the kitchen, and placing them in the sink. She wanted to just leave the dirty plates in the sink for Letoya to wash them, but she ended up washing them and placing them in the dishwasher. Michelle could do nothing but roll her eyes as she heard her girlfriend's laughter grow.
"Aww, Michelle, you didn't leave the dirty dishes in the sink for me. You're just too nice, you can't even be petty, that's so cute," Letoya said, struggling to speak in between giggles.
"Shut up, you're washing Kelly's dish once she's done eating,'' Michelle retorted, wiping the smile off of Letoya's face.
As if she was summoned, Kelly entered the dining room with the same grumpy look on her face. She sat down at the table next to Letoya, her face instantly meeting with the kitchen table. The loud bang caused the girl's friends to jump up in shock. They turned to their friend; matching concerned looks on their faces. Michelle, who was very confused as well as concerned, entered the dining room with Kelly's plate in her hand. She placed it in front of her friend and kissed the back of her head, earning a groan from the woman.
"What's wrong, baby? You're grumpier than usual this morning, something I didn't even know was possible," Michelle said, taking a seat beside her friend.
"Michelle, I'm not in the mood for your jokes, can't you see I'm in distress right now?" Kelly retorted.
"We can see that you're distressed, we just want to know why you are in distress,'' Letoya said, joining the conversation.
"I don't know what power that woman has over me to get me to stay on the phone with her for hours but whatever it is it needs to stop,'' Kelly said, raising her head from the table.
"I think it's the gayness. Y'all need to repent and remove that spirit of homosexuality and get right with the Lord, maybe then you'll finally get rid of that demon."
Michelle glared at her wife and rolled her eyes before turning her attention back to her daughter. "It's okay Kelly, I'm sure you'll get your perfect sleeping schedule back again. Also, I think it's cute how fast you and Beyoncé reconnected," Michelle said, placing a comforting hand on Kelly's shoulders.
"Yeah, it's not like you swore you would continue to keep your distance from her. You said that in the car ride home and then immediately went back on your word as soon as you got home from the party. Now you have been doing everything but keeping your distance but that's none of our business," Letoya added.
Kelly lifted her head from the table and glared at Letoya. "Why do you always have to be a bitch? Don't you get tired of it?"
Michelle took a sip of her coffee and replied, "No, she does not. Believe me, I know."
Letoya stared at her wife, clearly feeling very offended. Like the baby that she is, Letoya turned away from her wife and daughter, crossed her arms, and pouted. Kelly looked at her friend, truly annoyed by her childish behavior. She didn't bother paying her any mind, instead, she turned her attention to her food. She didn't feel like feeding into her friend's antics; she was just too tired for that.
Unlike Kelly, Michelle found her wife's behavior adorable. She couldn't resist the opportunity to baby her wife; it was her favorite thing to do. She got up and walked in front of her wife and chuckled once she saw her wife's little pout. She leaned down and kissed Letoya's lips, the kiss slapping a smile on the woman's face.
"Stop being a baby, you are making our friend more upset than she already is. Now let's talk about more positive things, no more filling the air with your negative energy," Michelle said, giving Letoya another kiss.
Kelly gagged at the sight. "Eww, you two disgust me. Have some decency, surely you can see that I'm trying to eat here."
Letoya rolled her eyes before taking a piece of bacon off of Kelly's plate and eating it. "Shut up, you can't complain when you don't pay bills. Living in our home rent-free and trying to bitch and moan. The audacity you possess is laughable."
Kelly quickly closed her mouth as Michelle fought the urge to laugh. Kelly has been living with Michelle and Letoya for almost a year, if not longer. When she first arrived Michelle told Kelly that she didn't have to chip in on any bills; the woman was homeless and didn't even have a job at the time. On top of that, Kelly's mental health was slowly deteriorating, working would only send the girl over the edge and Michelle didn't want that to happen. She knew Kelly's situation, which is why she refused to ask the girl for anything. She was aware of how Kelly foolishly depended on Ciara for her financial needs; she didn't work because she was promised that she would always be taken care of. Of course when the relationship ended, so did Kelly's easy life.
"Alright, that's enough. Let's discuss our upcoming high school reunion, something that's truly worth discussing. I can't wait, we're going to have so much fun this year. We get to see all our old classmates," Michelle said, causing both her friend and wife to groan in annoyance.
Michelle had been talking about the high school reunion for weeks. She knew the whole group would be there and she truly valued the time when she could see her friends again. She was also looking forward to seeing her old classmates. She couldn't wait to gloat in their faces, proving the ones who believed she would be anything wrong. She would get to breathe in the same place as those who wished that she had lost the ability to breathe years ago. She could annoy them by simply being alive and she couldn't wait to do so.
Just like her wife, Letoya was happy as well about the upcoming reunion; however, her level of excitement couldn't compare to her wife's. Michelle was always happy to see her friends; it didn't even matter that she had to push all the bad memories they caused. Letoya also loved meeting with her friends; she also had to fight back all the memories she tried to forget when around them. Still, being in the place where all the bad memories were formed only made it worse.
Letoya hated her old high school, she hated all the memories that came when she saw the school, and she especially hated the way she felt when she entered the school. She wanted to skip this year, but she knew how much the group valued the reunion; she just couldn't ruin it for them. Besides, the friends didn't see each other as much as they used to. She couldn't miss out on the chance to see them; she didn't know when they would see each other again.
"Oh, I forgot about that," Kelly said, her mouth filled with food.
"Don't talk with your mouth full, that's just disgusting,'' Michelle scolded.
Kelly swallowed her food before saying, "Sorry please excuse me for my poor manners. Anyway, as I was saying before, I forgot about the reunion, at least I tried to. I don't know why we're even going to that this year, especially since the last reunion we went to wasn't such a happy time for us."
Letoya looked at Michelle, who was cringing at the memories of the last reunion they all attended. The last high school reunion the group attended ended in catastrophe; it was the day their friendship crumbled to the group and blew up in flames. They had gone their separate ways, vowing to stay as far as possible from each other after that day. Being the fucked up friend group that they are, it took a tragic event happening to the person they all loved to bring them back together. Luckily they managed to stay together long enough to no longer hate each other and revive their flatlining friendship.
"Don't bring that up ever again please," Michelle said, her hands tightening around her coffee cup. "It's in the past, we're in a better place now. Things will be different, it'll be better."
"Yeah, things are way better than they were years ago. We have all healed and rebuilt our friendship, something that none of us thought was possible. Honestly, the whole story of our friendship is a soap opera," Kelly joked, hoping to lighten the mood.
"A soap opera is putting it lightly," Letoya mumbled.
"Yeah, our teenage years were a mess," Kelly continued. "We were nothing but a bunch of teens with issues and no healthy way to handle them. Thank God we all managed to survive that."
Just as Kelly finished speaking, the woman's phone began to vibrate in her pocket. The sound caused Michelle, who created the rule of no phones at the breakfast or dinner table, to glare at her. Kelly smiled innocently before taking out her phone and checking to see why her phone had gone off.
The sight of Beyoncé's contact on her screen caused a large smile across. "Sorry guys but I have to take this," Kelly said before getting up and sprinting into the living room.
Once in the living room, Kelly answered the phone and said, "Well, good morning, Beyoncé. I'm shocked to see you calling me this early in the morning."
Kelly's legs grew weak as Beyoncé's deep laugh filled her ears. "I'm shocked too. As you know waking up early isn't something I particularly aim to do, however, I just wanted to speak to you. Besides, I couldn't think of a better way to start my morning than by hearing your voice."
Kelly smiled. "Aww, that's so sweet of you to say. I'm glad to hear your voice as well, not that I didn't hear it all last night."
"Hey, I told you to hang up first and decided not to, so the conversation continued. Anyway, I didn't call to play the blame game, I called to ask you a question."
"Oh, and what is the question?"
Beyoncé took a deep breath and replied, "Uhh I was sort of wondering if you would want to hang out today. It's not a date! You're not ready for that and I am well aware of the fact. That's why I'm not forcing it, I'm just asking for a simple hangout. The truth is, it's been some days since the party and I haven't seen you since. Yes, talking to you is sweet but it's not the same as being in the same space as you. Now, if you are up to it, why don't we go hang out today?"
Kelly was silent; she wasn't sure what the right response would be. Kelly said she would keep her distance; she promised herself and those around her that she would take things slow; however, she has been breaking every promise she has made so far. The moment she got home from the party Beyoncé called her and she didn't hesitate to answer. She didn't even remember picking up the phone; she just remembered having a long conversation with the woman that night.
After a while of silence, Kelly sighed and said, "Well, I'm not sure if I can. I'll have to check with Letoya and Michelle if they have something planned today. They love doing dumb-ass family activities and I have no choice but to participate in them."
Beyoncé laughed. "I would kill to see what family activities those two do. Anyway, I would still love to hang out with you. Still, if you are busy today then it's okay. We'll just do it another day. However, if you're not doing anything today just let me know. Bye Kelly, have a nice day."
"You too, bye Beyoncé," Kelly said, hanging up the phone. She then pocketed her phone before walking back into the kitchen where Michelle and Letoya were waiting for her.
"I'm sure that was Beyoncé, how is she doing?" Michelle asked genuinely, wondering about the woman's well-being.
"What did her ass want?" Letoya asked, being her regular rude self.
"First of all, she is doing well. She sounds like she's getting better every day, which makes me very happy. Secondly, Letoya, you need to stop being a bitch and she wanted to know if I wanted to go out with her, not for a date, just a simple hangout. Speaking of hangouts, I was wondering if we were doing anything today."
Letoya, not sure if they had anything planned, looked at Michelle, the woman not even paying attention as she poked at her food. "What's wrong, baby, is my food nasty or something?" Letoya jokingly asked.
Michelle snapped out of her thoughts and looked at Letoya. She smiled at her wife, unaware of anything the woman had just said. "Oh hey, baby. I'm sorry I zoned out, what was it that you were saying?"
Her wife's words caused Letoya's smile to morph into a look of concern; she noticed her wife had been zoning out a lot lately; she just wasn't sure why she had been so distracted. "Kelly was wondering if we had anything planned for today. Beyoncé wants to hang out with her today and she wants to make sure she's not already going to be occupied. Do we have anything planned for today or do you want her out of the house so we can have some fun?" Letoya asked, wrapping her arm around Michelle's waist and pulling her in close.
Michelle seemed to immediately snap out of her daze, her eyes filling with lust as she leaned into her wife's embrace and said, "Oh, I haven't had fun with you in a while, maybe I need to cancel our other arrangements."
"No, don't do that," Kelly said, causing the couple to separate and glare at her. "I never agreed to hang out with Beyoncé today. Honestly, I was planning on calling her back and telling her I was already busy."
Letoya rolled her eyes and groaned. "Kelly, you were on the phone with that long-necked bitch all night. If you don't go hang out with the bitch and leave us alone so we can fuck in peace."
"Not to speak so crudely, but my wife is right," Michelle added. "You were having such a good time with Beyoncé last night. Why are you acting so shy now?"
Kelly sighed and turned her eyes to the ground before saying, "I'm scared to hang out with her, it's just so sudden, at least it is to me. Last night was different, it's nothing like today. We were in the moment and we weren't thinking about real life. Last night was a fantasy, a mere illusion of joy and unreasonable hopes. There is no way we can work together, we're just not good together."
Michelle sighed while Letoya rolled her eyes and said, "Kelly, this is why you don't get shit, not a girlfriend or a house of your own, it's because you don't try. Dreams don't just come true, you have to make them come true. You had to work hard to improve yourself, remember? You didn't just wake up one morning as a better person, you had to work for it. Now if you want to be with Beyoncé then you need to stop being scared, work on your relationship, and make that dream a reality."
"Wow, you just gave me a whole motivational speech so I could leave and you could get some pussy."
"Bitch, I'm trying to be nice and get you out of the house. Also, I meant what I said. Believe me, every word was the truth. Although I'm not too fond of Beyoncé, I have to admit that she makes you happy and your happiness means more to me than my disdain for her."
"Why do you hate her so much?" Kelly asked, causing Letoya and Michelle to go silent. "What? You never told me what she did to you. Hell, what did she do to either of you?"
"That's not something you want to know, especially not when you're trying to date her. Just know she was a bitch but still, it appears she has grown out of her old ways so please don't let my past issues with her ruin your future with her."
"Yeah, she's a better person now and we're all forgiven her for her old mistakes. Well, I've forgiven her. Unfortunately, some people don't know how to stop holding grudges and forgive," Michelle said, glaring at Letoya.
"Well, some things can't be forgiven. You can forgive all you want but surely you haven't forgotten," Letoya retorted. "Anyway, enough about the past, let's discuss the present. Kelly, are you going out with Beyoncé today or not? Either way, I'm trying to fuck my wife in peace today but if you want to stay in this house and hear me crack my wife's back like it's a crab leg then do that. Your presence will not stop my fun."
Kelly sighed and took out her phone. "Fine, I'll agree to hang out with Beyoncé today. How long do you think you guys will be at it?"
"Don't worry we will call you when it's safe for you to come back. Now call Beyoncé and get the hell out of my house."
Kelly rolled her eyes and took out her phone, dialing Beyoncé's number. "Hey, Beyoncé," she said kindly, greeting the woman.
"Hey Kelly, it's nice to hear your voice again. So, are you free today!"
"Yeah, I'm willing to hang out today. Letoya's determined to have some private time with Michelle, and I don't really want to stick around for that."
Beyoncé laughed on the other end of the line. "Got it. I'll pick you up around twelve o'clock."
"Great, see you then," Kelly said, hanging up the phone. She turned to Letoya and Michelle. "I'll be gone by twelve."
Letoya smirked. "Perfect. Enjoy your day, we will certainly enjoy ours."
Kelly sighed and pocketed her phone. She couldn't help but feel a flutter of nerves about spending the day with Beyoncé. Michelle noticed her hesitation and placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "You'll be okay," she said softly. "Come on, let's go get you ready."
Michelle took Kelly and led her upstairs. Kelly was thankful for her friend's help and kindness; however, she wasn't sure if the woman was helping her to ensure she left the house or because she was just nice. Still, Kelly appreciated Michelle's help. It was better than any effort Letoya ever gave to help her, which was little to none. Letoya was very kind; she was sometimes as kind as Michelle, however, she showed no kindness when it came to Beyoncé; she seemed to despise the woman at times and Kellynnever knew why.
Upstairs, as Kelly was choosing an outfit, she couldn't help but ask, "Why doesn't Letoya like Beyoncé?"

Michelle went quiet, her expression uncomfortable. "I would love to tell you why but that is not my business to tell. Just know my wife knows how to hold a grudge, unfortunately, she can never just let things go."
"Well, can you tell me if she did anything bad, did she hurt her or something? I know we all have history with each other, some longer and worse than others. Still, I don't remember what happened between those two. Does it have something to do with you, you were with both of them at one point, right?"
Michelle froze and quickly changed the subject, looking through Kelly's wardrobe. "What do you think of this top? It goes well with your jeans and the color looks nice on you."
Kelly sighed, knowing she wouldn't get an answer. It's fine," she said, taking the top.
"Good, let's talk about something else now. How do you feel today is going to go?"
They chatted about their plans for the day while Kelly got ready. Once she was dressed, they headed downstairs and joined Letoya on the couch. Michelle sat in the middle as Letoya wrapped her arms around her and Kelly comfortably lay on her. The three of them talked and watched TV, the atmosphere light and relaxed, until the doorbell rang.
Letoya got up to answer it, opening the door to Beyoncé. She immediately scowled upon seeing the woman's face. "You're early. Don't you know how to be on time?"
Beyoncé crossed her arms, her smile tight. "I thought I'd be polite and come early. Didn't realize it would be such a problem."
"It is a problem when you're an unwelcome guest," Letoya shot back. "I don't want nor do I need you here longer than you have to be."
Beyoncé clenched her jaw as her smile became more forced. "Well, it looks like you'll have some time to get used to it, doesn't it?"
Sensing the tension, Michelle quickly stepped in. "Hey, Beyoncé, great to see you!" she said warmly, stepping forward to give her a hug.
Beyoncé's demeanor changed instantly. She beamed at Michelle, her voice warm as she replied, "Michelle! It's so good to see you too. You look amazing, as always."
Michelle smiled back, glancing nervously at Letoya, who was glaring at Beyoncé. "Thanks, Beyoncé. We're just about ready. Kelly, you set?"

Kelly nodded, eager to escape the hostility. "Yeah, let's go."

As they turned to leave, Letoya glared at Beyoncé one last time. "Try not to ruin her day, you're good at doing that."

Beyoncé shot back a mischievous smile. "I'll do my best."

Letoya tried to respond but Michelle squeezed her arm, trying to calm her down. "Let it go, babe. Kelly, have fun today."

"I will and you two try to stay out of my bedroom, " Kelly replied before smiling nervously at Beyoncé. "Ready?"

Beyoncé nodded, her eyes flicking to Letoya one last time before she turned to leave. "Ready. Let's go."

As they walked out, Kelly felt a mixture of excitement and apprehension. She knew today was going to be interesting and she feared that it wouldn't end well. As she got closer to Beyoncé's car, Kelly thought of running back into the house and never speaking to the woman again; it wasn't until Beyoncé grabbed her hand that all her fear vanished. Kelly looked up at Beyoncé and was immediately by the woman's warm eyes, her eyes matching her warm touch.
Beyoncé opened the car door for Kelly and asked, "Are you ready?"
Kelly paused, unsure of what to say. Still, after a while of silence, Kelly took a deep breath and replied, "Yes, I'm ready, let's go."
