"How are you alive?" asked Autumn, staring at the other woman across from her.

Mia's tired eyes returned her gaze. "I could ask you the same thing."

"You know what I mean! Where the hell have you been all these years? What happened?" Autumn sounded desperate. On the one hand she was glad that Mia was still alive, on the other hand she was angry. She had let her down.

Mia leant forwards and rested her folded arms on the table.

She didn't like remembering the day. When she was woken not by Charlotte, but by three masked men. They dragged her off to a forest outside London.

There they tied her up, tied a concrete block around her feet and threw her into a lake.

Only the idiots hadn't tied her up well enough. Mia barely made it back to the surface. Luckily for her, her kidnappers had already disappeared by then.

Of course, she realised that Roger had sent the guys after her. First she wanted to get back quickly. Back to Charlotte and protect her.

But something stopped her. Fear. And so she went into hiding. Left London and hid in Ireland.

Until a few days ago. She still kept an eye on her old life. On the nursery. And when she heard through the great vine.
That Roger would soon be retiring and Charlotte would be the new owner. She knew something was wrong.

When she had finished talking. She was promptly snapped at by Autumn. "That's no justification for just disappearing!"

" I know.... but I'm back now. Autumn, Winter, something's brewing. We have to stick together now."

Winter nodded and placed Scott's file on the table. " My Love... You were right about everything. Someone sabotaged Reece's car..."

Winter placed the file in front of her. Carefully, she took the picture of her brother's wrecked car.

"I think Roger is threatening Charlotte and keeping her under his control. I mean, why else would Roger make her the new owner?" Winter said.

Mia nodded. The thought of this rat threatening the woman she loved so much made her rage rise.

Autumn was still looking at the photo. "We need proof..."

"Anything that would incriminate Roger is probably in his safe," Mia said.

"And how do we get it?" asked Winter.

Mia wiped her face and shrugged her shoulders.

"Didn't my father have a new computer system installed? I bet the manager can see all the passwords now," said Autumn.

" We should talk to Charlotte. She'll definitely help us get the rat!" shouted Mia

But Autumn shook her head. "Mia, I know this will be difficult for you. But you mustn't go to Charlotte under any circumstances. No one must know that we are gathering evidence against my father. I don't want to lose any more people..."

Mia stayed for the night. It was safer for herself, but also for Autumn and Winter.

They had devised a plan to get the information. If everything worked out, Roger would soon be behind bars.

Charlotte was typing on her computer, she was, as always, on time. But to her surprise, someone else was already in the Nursery with her so early.

"Morning Charlotte," Winter leant into the office.

"Oh, good morning. Winter, what are you doing here so early?"

"I've been thinking about your offer. I'd like to take over as manager."
