Everyone was gathered in the meeting room waiting for Astur to begin. The room was tense, thick with anticipation, and unnerving. Questions floated through everyone's mind about the attack.

"The angels and demons know we have figured out their plans. This changes everything. They're going to become more violent, and demon attacks are going to rise everywhere. But I have a feeling everyone in this room is going to be a target." Astur glared at the table thinking hard of a plan, seeing as everything is going to shit.

"This doesn't change what I have assigned you all to do, but you need to be careful. Those of you who rule, I hope you take vice and strengthen your borders and train your warriors harder. As for those who aren't in communities- you need to team up. Goblin, you will be helping the beautiful fairy, Flora, and vice versa. You must protect each other from threats while you both try and persuade your kind. I suppose I don't need to pair you two up do I?" Astur questioned the dragon siblings who both shook their heads. They had been protecting each other since they were young, the perfect pair in battle.

"Great. Witch. You will accompany Val."

"No," Mina interjected immediately. "I will not be teaming up with anyone. I've proven I can hold my own." she scoffed. Fuck if she was going to travel with someone. She always traveled alone, since she was a kid.

"You WILL partner with Val. End of discussion!" The merman roared.

"Who the fuck are you to tell me what to do? Do you think just because the council came to you first means that you have any authority? Over any of us? I don't have to do shit, including listening to you!" Mina's eyes blazed red as dark magic flowed through her veins ready to kill.

Astur flinched back, it was hardly noticeable but Mina caught it. Satisfaction buzzed on her skin knowing she scared him.

Mina was about to launch another attack verbal or physical, she didn't even know. until shuffling was heard to her right and she watched as the red-eyed man moved closer to the scene. Mina stalled in curiosity about what the weird man was doing. He stopped next to her and he appeared to be studying Astur.

"You think this is the best course of action?" the man asked, his question directed towards the merman. It took Astur a second to understand what he was talking about.

"Yes. You both may be powerful but if the demons or gods forbid the angels to attack either of you, you'll be dead. We saw tonight they aren't messing around. You fought those demons, they weren't just any low-rankers." the merman reasoned, his gaze flicking over to Mina waiting for her to attack.

Mina had enough. She wasn't going to sit around and be babysat. She straightened out and turned around walking towards the door. A twitch of her finger opened her invisible portal to her realm before stepping through and leaving the meeting.
