🕰️ FUTURE 🕰
Pov' Hayden Collins.

When I wake up, I find my arms wrapped around Grace's waist. With her lovely blonde hair spread across the pillow, she slept soundly. I stand there, watching her for a few minutes before I notice a noise coming from downstairs. I get out of bed carefully so as not to wake her, I pick up my t-shirt that was thrown on the floor and leave the room silently.

Walking down the stairs towards the office, I decide to check the security cameras. However, as I started to go down, I heard a noise again coming from the area close to the back door. I become instantly alert, turning to check the still closed bedroom door, hoping that Grace hasn't woken up.

Carefully, I silently descend the rest of the stairs, and as I approach the hallway, I head towards one of the frames that displayed a photo of me and Grace on our wedding day. I remove it from the wall, revealing a safe with a password. When I open it, I find weapons and ammunition stored inside. I quickly choose one of the loaded weapons and close the safe, putting the frame back in place.

I stop behind the guy before pointing the gun, placing the barrel against the back of his head and keeping my finger on the trigger.

— What goes through your mind when you break into my house?! Nonsense or something? — I spoke harshly, with a firm voice, holding the gun firmly.

— Errr... I wasn't doing anything.. — said the man stuttering, shaking with fear.

— So it means nothing and just breaking into my house? I don't think so!. — I still speak with the same tone of voice, unlocking the gun, making the guy shake.

It's not every day that someone walks into your house out of nowhere, especially not mine.

— They paid me for this... — He replied with his voice wavering, still shaking with fear. It even looks like he's lying...

— I hope he got enough money to hold his funeral today. — I respond incisively before even allowing the person to speak, as I press the trigger of the gun. Thus, his lifeless body begins to roll down the stairs.

As the body rolls, I curse, thinking about the sound of the shot. I close the basement door once again, leaving the body below, and put the gun away.

I enter my office, turn on the computers and see through the cameras that Grace is sleeping peacefully, making me sigh with relief, grateful to have married a woman who sleeps heavily.

I routinely head to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. As I finish setting the table, I notice on the clock that it is already 9:30 am, the time my wife used to wake up on weekends.

Concentrating on washing the dishes, I suddenly feel a hand cover my eyes.

—Guess who it is...— Grace said in a sleepy voice, with her hand covering my eyes.

—I don't know...— I replied, jokingly. — Could it be a perfect blonde who married a hot guy? — I said, trying not to laugh.

— It would be the opposite. I'm the hot girl and you're the perfect person — said Grace, releasing my eyes, making me quickly grab her waist, changing position and pushing her against the sink.

— Good morning... — I greeted softly before nestling my head against her neck, absorbing the floral scent. — I love you so much... do you know that?

— Yes... — Grace replied, trying to move away, but I held her waist more firmly, wanting her to remain still. — Hay... we need to have breakfast... — she said looking at me, mumbling.

I wonder how I will be able to leave this house with that body in the basement.

And that was the morning of an ordinary day in my "life"
