What do most people feel when they find out the person they trust the most has been hiding something so significant from them?

Y/n couldn't comprehend what she felt, her dad is a good father; providing all her needs and wants and he does everything and more to make her happy, but is he a good person in general?

Maybe it was stupid, but she never really questioned their wealth and how her father gained so much money in just a few years.

She didn't want to doubt her father but she couldn't help but overthink her father's job. Is it dangerous? And another question, Is her father dangerous?

"Is something wrong sweetheart?" Her father asked when she remained staring as they ate.

Y/n shook her head. "No, just... thinking,"

Her father hummed. "What about?"

She gripped her utensils slightly tighter as she encouraged herself to ask, but should she bring up something during a meal? It would've seemed rather disrespectful.

What should she say first anyway? Her failing grades? The meeting she overheard? or the fact that she's starting to doubt her father's true nature?

"Stuff," She muttered. "Art stuff,"

Her father looked at her with confusion and interest at the same time. "Oh? Are you having a hard time looking for inspiration again?"

"Ah, no, I'm alright," Y/n chuckled sheepishly.

Ultimately, in the end, Y/n didn't dare to confront her father about anything. It was frustrating, to say the least; wanting to tell someone and find out more, but couldn't.

After their lunch, the father and daughter stood outside the restaurant, waiting for their car. Y/n's father was on a call, speaking in a rather low tone, and so Y/n decided to stand by the side to give him privacy.

Just as she was enjoying observing people and viewing the surroundings, a certain pair approached her.

She stared with bored eyes. "What do you want this time?"

Ran stood before her, his arms crossed and an annoying smile on his face. "Oh, nothing, I just can't help but notice that you've just had lunch at a fancy restaurant, and I wonder with who?"

Rindou rolled his eyes behind his brother before walking away, but not too far, just far enough to save himself from the embarrassment his brother was going to experience later on.

"Huh?" She raised a brow.

"I honestly didn't think you'd be that type of girl, missy," Ran dramatically feigned hurt.

Y/n continued to stare at him as if he had grown two more heads. "What are we talking about here exactly?"

That's when Y/n's father approached them. "Y/n," His eyes landed on Ran, and immediately but subtly shielded Y/n. "Is this your friend?" He asked as if he didn't know the other child.

"No, I don't even know his name," She shrugged.

Ran wore a close-eye smile as he felt his irritation grow. "I already told you my name once,"

Y/n hummed. "Huh, I suppose it's not memorable,"

"The car's here," Her dad muttered before walking away toward the car. "Let's go, Y/n,"

She looked at her father. "Yes, Dad," She replied before looking back at Ran for a moment and then walking to the car as well.

Ran remained silent.
