TWS
VIOLENCE
(Such as gunshots and harm.)
"So it is possible that," Mindo stops and looks over to me. "She could be working against humans." He continued, I started to wobble around. My vision and hearing started to go dark. "Whe- She- help-" I couldn't out what Mindo was saying and everything went dark. I felt my head being caught by someone who's hands felt like Mindo's. I "awakened" in a dark void. Someone who looked like Mindo smiled at me, I couldn't make out their face but they seemed serious. Like a sign of worry fell across them.
"Here take this," They said, giving me a gold ruby necklace. "Who are you?" I said. "No need for that now, the time will come when you know who I am." They said ominously, putting the necklace on my neck. "Now I have to be quick. See you Bree." They said, patting my head. "HEY DON'T CALL ME THAT!" I yelled before waking up to the room I was in before. 'I guess I was just dreaming-' I thought before touching a gold ruby necklace on my neck. 'Was it truly a dream...?' I thought.
Mindo came in, when he noticed I'm awake he started rushing towards me. "Are you feeling alright?," he questioned. "I'm feeling pretty normal, but this headache is killing me though." I responded. "What... What happened out there? You just fainted out of the blue." Mindo asked with a concerned voice. "I... I don't know.. I had a weird dream and I woke up with this necklace-" I said, panicking, but Mindo chimed in to calm me down. "Hey, breathe in, out. In and out." I finally calmed down. "I do have to say, that is rather particular but we'll focus on that later-" Mindo stopped on his tracks when he looked at my eyes. "What? Is there something wrong with my face?" I asked, clearing my face of anything.
"Your eyes..." He stumbled on his words. "They're red." I stared at him in shock, "How could they be red?! I was certain I was human!" I hollered. "I mean.. Have you ever looked at yourself in a mirror when you woke up and lost your memories in that cave? It's possible that your eye color changed to normal when you woke up here for some reason." Mindo suggested. "...You're right." I gave in, it was entirely possible that's what happened. And I had to accept that. But that meant so much to me. My name is Brianna but I go by Brownie, my birthday is August 12th, and I'm human. That's all I could remember about myself. Now I know that one of those things are.. False, What else is? Is my name even Brianna? Is my birthday truly August 12th? I just don't know anymore. I don't know.
Why do I even go by Brownie? Brownie. Brownie. Brownie. "Bree!" Mindo screamed. I snapped back to reality, still shaken. "You looked really panicked and zoned out there.. I was worried. Are you okay?" He asked. I don't know how to respond. Am I okay? No, I'm not. I'm really not. But do I really want him to be worried? No. Never. I barely know him, but it feels like I've known him for an eternity. My entire life. Like I can trust him. So I don't want to make him worried. "Yeah.. I'm fine." I responded after a while of silence. Mindo gave me a look of disbelief. But he didn't pry.
"If you say so.. I'm always here to talk if you need to." He told me before he added "You should probably stay and recover for the rest of the day." He said. "But I'm fine, all I did was pass out-" I attempted to argue but Mindo interrupted me. "Listen Brownie, you don't wanna argue with me about this." I just rolled my eyes. He left the room. I'm alone with nothing but my thoughts to guide me. I knew that was bad. I thought of something to do that wouldn't happen. Maybe I could read a book from one of the bookshelves. Or- I heard a loud commotion outside. People were screaming loudly. I hear a bunch of loud.. Gunshots? I drew the curtains and looked out the window. We were being attacked. We were being attacked by humans. I didn't want to just wait there. I ran outside my room to see Mindo doing the same.
"Stay inside." His voice is low and cold. "But I want to help-" "Brownie I wont tell you again, stay the fuck inside." I looked at the floor with annoyance. And turned my head away as he left the house. I got to the front door. What? You thought I was gonna stay there? I left the house and saw fires and hurt civilians. It was terrible. I did my best to dodge the attacks and also avoid getting seen by Mindo. I was helping villagers with their wounds and putting them in safe areas. That's all I could do since I didn't know how to use my healing powers. I felt so bad for them. As I was going to help another villager I tripped on a twig. I tried getting up but it was too late. I got shot in my left leg, it hurt like hell. To put more salt on the wound, Mindo saw me. And you can imagine how upset and shocked he looked. As he came towards me the humans descended. Mindo healed me and the other villagers. If he's a peaceful Masign, then how did he heal me? So many questions ran through my head but I had to wait until later for the answers. Not to mention now I have to deal with the consequences of not listening to Mindo.
