 The Cave

The bell rang as the eighth grade students ran out of their classroom screaming "It's summer break!"

All of them quickly ran through the school pushing and shoving each other desperately trying to reach the school's doors.

Stella, the eighth grade's most popular student, searched for her best friend Maggie. Finally, Stella reached Maggie after thrusting through the boisterous students. "Hey! You excited about summer break?" She asked Maggie. "Yes." Maggie responded. "Agreed." replied Stella.

As soon as she said that someone bumped into Maggie and knocked her over. "Sorry!" exclaimed a familiar voice. It was Noah, Maggie's secret crush. She stood up and said under her breath " I-its fine" then she watched as he ran away. " I'm gonna go now. Text me later, ok?" said Stella.

"Yeah, sure" Maggie mumbled back. Stella jogged away and Maggie strolled behind her. As Stella and Maggie were walking home they received a text from Noah saying "Hey Stella and Maggie you wanna come to the park with Jayden and I at 10:00 pm tonight??" Maggie and Stella both agreed.

Since all of their parents were on a business trip for the weekend they didn't have to worry about sneaking out. Stella headed home and put on leggings, a tank top, and her hoodie. She put together a basket of snacks to bring to the park.

Stella took out her phone and texted Maggie, "Hey can you bring a bunch of drinks with you to the park?'' Maggie texted back "sure". She took off her uniform and decided to wear white sweatpants, a pink tank top, and a white matching hoodie. She grabbed one of her old Easter baskets and put water, soda, and fruit punch inside of it.

Maggie and Stella left on their bikes to go to the park around 9:45. When they were all at the park they set up a soft blanket on the

ground near the lake.

Maggie set out the drinks, and Stella the snacks. Jayden grabbed a chip and asked, "What do you guys want to do?" Stella suggested they play spin the bottle. Maggie grabbed a Coca-Cola bottle and drank the soda. "Okay, let's play," she said.

Noah went first. He spun the bottle and watched it carefully as it landed towards Maggie. She stood up and stepped toward him, he did the Allie. Maggie tilted her head slowly and closed her eyes, Noah closed his eyes and wrapped his hands around her waist. They kissed for a good 15 seconds then finally let go.

Noah chuckled and sat down. Now it was her turn, she spun the bottle hoping for it to land on Noah so they could do that again. When it stopped spinning it landed on Jayden. He gave an uncomfortable look and got up. "I-I have to use the restroom," he said and quickly ran away. Maggie looked at Stella and Noah, confused. They both made a facial expression showing that they didn't know.

Jayden was walking through the park and he saw a small hole in the ground. It was big enough to fit a couple people, so Jayden stuck his upper body through to see inside.

He saw a large opening and a slightly lit path through. He ran back to the group and said "Guys come look at this!" they ran after Jayden, he pointed and said "See this hole? It opens up to a cave-like thing. I think we should go inside." "Woah" Noah whispered. "Yeah, we're definitely going inside." Noah said.

Noah went back and grabbed all of their things. Such as drinks, snacks, flashlights and their blanket. Noah gave everyone a flashlight. They crawled into the cave one by one Stella, Maggie, Noah, and Jayden. "Oh wow," Stella said. "C'mon let's keep going, "Jayden said. They walked for a little while until they saw a large pit before them.

Jayden came to a halt when he saw it and told everyone not to move. Noah looked at the pit and asked "Are we gonna go down there?" Unsure, Jayden said "Why not?" so he jumped into the pit. Noah followed Jayden, then Maggie , and Stella too. When they reached the bottom they all hit their heads on the hard rock below, and they all went unconscious.
