Soul Society. Squad 5 barracks.

A week has passed since Rukia's imprisonment. I tried to visit her whenever I could but I still have my duties as a third seat and there's the matter of Gin... Like Captain Aizen said he's definitely up to something but I don't know what. I've visited Squad 3 a few times, acting like I was there to visit Kira but I still haven't found anything.

I pick up my Zanpakuto and make my way to the exit of the Squad 5 barracks.

Momo: Hey Y/n! Where are you going?

Y/n: Uh Lieutenant? You startled me...

Momo: Are you gonna see Rukia again?

Y/n: No, not yet. I just wanted to go have a drink maybe

Momo: Well if you say so...

I make my way out. There's no doubt Momo saw right through my lie. We've been together so long she could see right through me even if no one else could.

After a small while I made it to the squad 3 barracks. I flash step to a nearby roof and prepare myself to sneak in. Like I said, I usually go just saying I'm visiting Kira but... This time I need a closer look into what Gin is doing.

Just as I'm about to enter, the gate opens and Gin walks out... That creepy smile on his face.... What's weird is Kira isn't with him. Kira is almost always with his captain. And it looks like Gin is heading to the Seireitei gates.... Is he leaving?

I follow him but made sure to keep my distance so he couldn't sense my spiritual pressure. Suddenly, I hear a loud bang, when we reach the edge of The Seireitei I see that the Gate was activated... Did someone try to enter? Who would even think to try that? I look over and Gin is just standing there... Staring at the gate door, with the same creepy smile. Suddenly he looked my way and his smile grew as he gave me a wave.

With my cover blown I walk over to him.

Y/n: Captain Ichimaru, what happened here? Is someone trying to get into the Seireitei?

Gin: It would seem so third seat L/n. But don't worry... If any intruders make their way inside... I will deal with them personally.

Y/n: It's a good thing you were here then...

Gin: Yes, good indeed.

Y/n: forgive my curiosity Captain Ichimaru but... Why were you here? And without Kira no less.

Gin: I just wanted to go on a nice little stroll... Sorry if that wasn't the answer you were looking for. Were you expecting something else when you followed me?

Y/n:...Followed you? I wasn't-

Gin: Since, I left my barracks right? And you've been watching me this past week in general.... Tell me Y/n, oh I mean Third seat L/n... What did you see?

I didn't know what to say. He knew the whole time. Luckily before I had to answer the gate opened. Looks like a group of people. The Gate Guard who is holding the gate open, a soul reaper with Orange hair, a woman, and two other men.... Oh and they had a black cat with them.... Wait a minute that cat... There's no way. And the soul reaper with them... He looks like Kaien. Plus that Zanpakuto is as big as his body. Is this guy... The human Rukia gave her powers to?

Gin slices the gate guard's arm with his Shikai. It was so quick no one had time to react. Gin threatens to kill the guard when the orange haired soul reaper runs at his with his Zanpakuto ready. I have no choice.

I jump in front and block his attack with my own Zanpakuto.

Y/n: it's Ichigo right?

Ichigo: How the hell do you know my name?

Y/n: We have a mutual friend. Please stand down.

Ichigo hesitates for a moment and Gin stretches his Zanpakuto at us with his Shikai. I have no choice but to jump out the way or I would've been impaled. Ichigo blocks with his Zanpakuto and gets sent flying into the Gate Guard launching both of them back causing the gate to close. Gin walks up and waves at them before it fully closes.

Y/n: ...that was close.

Gin: Oh don't worry... I knew you'd move out the way in time. Now I gotta go make a report on the intruders getting away.

Y/n: ...why let him live?

Gin: Hm?

Y/n: you used Shinzo... That should have gone straight through that guy's Zanpakuto. So what, did you hold back?

Gin: *smiles* not at all. Perhaps he is stronger than he seems.

With that Gin walks away.

Damn, if that cat is who I think it is then I need to talk to that group. But there's no doubt the Seireitei will be on lockdown till that matter is settled.

I make my way back to the squad 5 barracks. When I get there I see both Momo and Captain Aizen leaving.

Aizen: Oh, Y/n *gives a friendly smile* Momo said you went out. How did it go?

Y/n: It could have gone better... Listen, the human who took Rukia's powers tried to come into the Seireitei.

Aizen: Really? That's pretty serious. How do you know this?

Y/n: I saw them, and Captain Ichimaru was there to....

Aizen: Is that so? Hm, I have a bad feeling about this... Thank you for telling me Y/n. I'm sure whatever Gin is doing... We'll figure it out together. Now go inside and get something to eat. You left before you could have breakfast right?

Y/n: oh uh... Yeah, I did... But where are you and Momo off to?

Momo: Head captain called for a Captains meeting and I have to meet with all of the lieutenants.

Aizen: Yes and based on what you have told me Y/n. It is probably about the Ryoka who have somehow entered Soul Society.

Y/n: I see... Well I'm gonna go get something to eat now. I'll talk to you when you get back.

Aizen: Very well, Y/n. We're off now.

Captain Aizen waves and leaves with Momo.
