"Glasses"

Amari repeated, "Alright, stay here."

She climbed onto a nearby bin, from this new angel she scans the crowd for anyone wearing glasses. Spotting a familiar yellow-and-black-striped shirt, she quickly moved towards it, grabbing the hand of a woman and pulling her out from the chaos. They tumbled out of the crowd, Amari's back meeting the pavement harshly as she softened the woman's fall.

With a shaky exhale, Amari eyes flutter open to meet the worried gaze of the woman.

"We haven't been properly introduced," Amari whispered, attempting to distract her from how herself from how her body stung. Distract her from how they were just inches apart.

"Akashe Amari. It's impossible not to know who you are," the woman replied, surprise lighting up Amari's eyes. "I'm Amo Wakita," she introduced herself, standing up and offering a hand to Amari, who gladly accepted.

Their hands connected, and a jolt of electricity rushed through them. They exchanged amused and surprised looks, their gazes lingering.

"Not Mom," Hina chimed in with a pout, grabbing their attention.

Amari huffed and glanced back at the still-moving crowd, though it had slowed a bit. She tried her luck again, pulling another woman, who turned out to be a teenage boy, from the crowd. He gave Amari a mouthful of thanks, fear clear in his gaze and body shaking.

"Hey, you're okay," she encouraged softly, realizing she couldn't find Hina's mother this way. There were others who were just as panicked and scared in the crowd.

If only someone could stop this chaos. While Ultraman fought Kaiju, the Ultraforce defended the people. If Ultraforce were here, it would have been dealt with... Amari then remembered she was Ultraforce and if nothing was done, more people would get injured.

"Hina, Ren, this is Ami. A friend of mine?" she quickly introduced, a bit unsure if introducing her so quickly as friends is alright. "It's nice to meet you Hina, Ren," Hina smiled.

Amari's eyes lingering on Ami's, who gave her an assuring smile. She would take care of the kids.

"Ren," she addressed the teenager, "I need you to help pull anyone struggling out of the crowd. We need to keep it from getting too packed." Ren gave a shaky smile. "Me?"

"Hey, you got this," Amari said softly, placing a hand on his shoulder. "It's just like catching a fish," she tried to simplify.

"But I've never been fishing," Ren replied worriedly.

"There's a first for everything," she nodded, biting back her worry. She looked around, finding a discarded cable. It was strong and had a bit of length. She tied it around his waist. "Right now, people need saving. Some more than others. You don't have to save them all. Just focus on those who need it most, just focus on saving just one" she nodded. "I believe in you, and so do Amo and Hina."

"Yeah!" Hina passionately agreed, feeling the upliftment from Amari's speech.

"You're not alone, alright?" she encouraged. "If you get swept in, tug the rope. And if you save someone, tug it too," she instructed. "Amo will pull you back here if you get too far in."

Ami nodded. "Got it."

"I want to help too," Hina huffed, causing Amari to smile. "Of course... and Hina will..." Amari thought for a moment. "Come on, Hina." She gestured for her to climb onto a nearby roof. "Wow," Hina mouthed.

"I can see everything," Hina excitedly said. "Good. You'll be their eyes," Amari nodded, proud.

Hina pulled out a glow stick from her pocket. "Using this like traffic officers do?" Amari grinned. "Exactly," she nodded proudly.

"You wouldn't have more of those, would you?" Hina then pulled out more glow sticks. Soon Ami and Ren had one too. "So you all can see each other," Amari nodded. On the roof, Hina practiced some indicator cues.

Going to Ami, Amari whispered, "If it gets too crowded, stop the rescue and get on the roof. You have to make sure you all are safe and it's safer to get on higher ground. Better to be out of their reach." Amo nodded in understanding.

Amari climbed onto the roof. "Where are you going?" Ren stressed. "What if I—we need you?" Ren quickly corrected, slightly panicked at the thought of doing this without Amari. Amari, one of the first adults who confidently say "I believe it you".

"Well, I need you here," she softly said. "And you're great enough to handle it. Sadly, I'm needed in more places too," she sighed, the screams still so loud. Ren realized and swallowed, then nodded in understanding. Amari sighed, sliding down to hug him. Her mother's words, she now understood: the responsibility, the demand, and the sacrifice. She realized why she had to leave.

"Hey, I promise I'll come back as quickly as I can," she said. Ren sniffed, putting on a brave face.

With everyone assigned a task, Amari took a deep breath and prepared herself for what lay ahead.

Personally, I'm proud and impressed by Amari. Ren, I'd want her to stay too.
